This is an amazing website for students ages 3-6 to help them in understanding what an earthquake is, which is very important for them to know and understand in earthquake prone areas such as San Diego. This website includes a children's book explaining what an earthquake is using the letters of the alphabet. It also includes a guide for parents so they are fully knowledgeable about earthquakes and a guide for teachers so they can express the most important points of earthquakes. With this website educators can communicate important and useful information to students effectively.

    1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity\n\nTeachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:\n\nb. engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.\n

This website is interesting, because it is actually a website advertising a GRANT for individuals that are best able to incorporate the standard into their classroom. It stresses the importance of the creativity and innovation and gives suggestions and even a rubric for creating lessons stressing this standard. This website can help teachers make sure that their lesson plans are following important and necessary aspects of this standard. It also can be used as a tool to help teachers remember what is important in the classroom and why it is important.

    5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership\n\nTeachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. Teachers:\n\n. \nexhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others.

This website should be the first website that students visit and read. Learning the core rules of etiquette on the internet instills values and a well-rounded code of ethics when using the internet. This will assist students in understanding their role in being a positive digital citizen and the importance of portraying themselves in the best way possible.

A. Paustian's EDUC 422 Journal: Website Review: Diigo - 0 views

  • Diigo has taken social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace to the next level, offering not only a way to connect with people but a way to compile research and engage in the research done by others.
  • On the bookmarked page itself, users can highlight text and add sticky notes so that annotations and important passages can be recalled later; these user additions to the webpage are saved along with the site itself so that when the bookmark is pulled up, the highlighting and notes are found too!
