This site gives an overview of how to design a webquest and why they are useful. The information is useful to know because it is step by step and shows how a well-planned webquest can enhance learning.  Links to pre-existing webquests are found here as well.

I absoluetly love this website. You have to visit it if you have young children or neices and nephews. Looking for a game to match your school's curriculum? Use our Curriculum Guide to find the right game or activity to meet your classroom or child's needs. The guide is broken up into four areas: Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. I actually did this with my 7 year old grandson. We did the detective search to see how "Cole" was eating and helped him pick out nutricious food in the lunch line at school. We were also able to print out a worksheet that shows how many teaspoons of sugar are in your soda drink. We will be doing the test this week. Children will have fun doing the investigation while learning about science adnd healthy snacks.

Great website offering information on how to teach social studies using technology. I will be taking this information into my lesson plans!

This website offeres a expansive list of Cooperative Learning activities for the students to do. These can intergrated into lesson plans or used as a introduction activity.

Cooperative Learning Structures Explanation Jigsaw Groups with five students are set up. Each group member is assigned some unique material to learn and then to teach to his group members. To help in the learning students across the class working on the same sub-section get together to decide what is important and how to teach it.

A website on how to adapt and enhance webquests for the individual classroom. Useful to know because teaching is not always about reinventing an idea, but rather adapting it for a specific situation.

A website about how to create an individual webquest along with examples on the page. This site also includes links to other pages but as a teacher I would most likely use the adapting and creating section as I gained more experience.

Great site that includes workshops as well as an online store for history and social studies teachers. As well as some tips on how to use technology in the classroom to fit social stuides needs.

Educational Technology Guy is a great blog written by a physics teacher.  His blog relies on the fact that teachers want new ideas about technology and how to use it.  Davids blog has great resources that connect teacher to websites that will help them grow in their technology skills. 

How can an iPhone, iPod, or iPad help a child to learn? Take a look at the Apple Apps for Education. If you want to learn "it", there's probably an app for that.

This website contains lesson plans that are great for social studies.  You can find lesson plans ranging form information on president's Day to learning how to read a map. 

This is a weekly online magazine that is available online. It has videos, slide shows, and read-aloud text that couls aid in helping students to learn how to read.

This is the Library of Congress's site. I find this to appropriate because it is from the government and it gives your mulitple choices on how to grow. You just decide on what exactly you want to do and search for it on the page.

The Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources program provides primary source-based staff development to teachers across the country. I included the site because it is both a government ran website and allows teachers the opportunity to expand what they know with their own decisions.

This website is great for answering some of the basic questions to cooperative learning. It gives information on how students will benefit and what the teachers role is when implementing such program. 

This website contains educational resources in information technology." It has lessons on terminology, creating web pages, and learning how to search the web. This information can be found in subject area located on the left of the website.
