KM stands for knowledge management. This article talks about CoPs in terms of the need to do away with canonical practice because the rules and procedures inhibit problem solving abilities. There is something I cannot identify that annoys me with this article. I do like the " Empowerment is key to learning" statement.

It is important to note that they are not a team. The goal is not to acquire specific information but to be part of a group to share information. It is unstructured dialog which leads to problem-solving and innovation.

A look at how an organization shares and uses knowledge, builds collaboration and innovation by using informal communities of interest. The paper looks at characteristics of CoP's, particularly with one group, and identifies how these characteristics can be transferrable to others.

This research paper discusses the underlying motivation of the utilization of communities of practice and the barriers that hinder the acceptance and utilization of sharing knowledge in a community of practice. The study looks at the benefits of a knowledge-sharing CoP for employees at a large company.

This app is around $200 and is specifically deigned for younger students with autism. It allows them to communicate through images rather than speech and has had very positive feedback from parents and educators alike, who say the students want to say more but find it hard to.
