Link to Digital Storytelling for young kids - 0 views

This was on a blog that Greg posted earlier this month. I watched the tutorial and it seems very simple to implement in the classroom. I think it would be great to make stories and record the kids' voices. For third grade, it might be neat to do a book on mixed up fairytales along with illustrations or add some pizzazz to a biography. Pros: Seems very simple to upload images and to use the program. It seems to be very kid friendly. To implement in the classroom, you would definitely need an extra pair of hands.

Microsoft Blog~Digital Storytelling Tools - 0 views

This is a great resource! This blog has a free PDF file that shows digital storytelling "step-by-step". There are links to kid created digital stories and lots of different ways to use digital storytelling in the classroom. In particular, there was a link that showed how a class used Flat Stanley to tell a digital story. The example was okay, but gave me some great ideas for classroom use. Not only could you use for Flat Stanley, but digital storytelling could add another dimension to penpals. The guide shows how you can use powerpoint, photos story and live movie maker to make digital story products. The guide also reinforces how digital storytelling can be tied to standards and how it can be beneficial to all students. It only shows microsoft products, but is full of great links and ideas in both the PDF guide and blog.
