This site is great for elementary students when learning about careers. Our guidance counselor uses it yearly during her career unit. The kids love the games and it really connects skills they need to learn to specific careers.
Interactive site that allows students to create their own autobiographical comic, create a comic with new vocabulary words or create a story board. This is also a free app. This site looks as though it could be used across grade levels and content areas.
Interactive site for elementary students. The teacher creates an account for each student. The student then reads books of their choice and take a test over the book. Students acquire "gold coins" for each question they get correct on the quiz. This really builds literacy skills. There is also a free app to download to an ipad or iphone.
Interactive site that I have used as a blog for a Senior elective social studies class. The teacher can post a question for debate and students can respond to the question and each other's post. This site also allows the teacher to invite students to join, so it is private in that no one can view or edit except for members. This site can also be set so that the teacher receives an email when each student posts a response.
Interactive App for student use. This free app allows students to create their own cartoons on an Ipad or Iphone. Toontastic is suitable for students from elementary to high school. They can create their own cartoon based on content they have learned. Students can also add voice over and narration.
Interactive site that offers a free math, language, and reading curriculum for K-8 teachers and students. All lessons are aligned with the Common Core Standards.
Personalized and interactive site for reading instruction. Students are pre-tested at the beginning of the program and placed at individual level for differentiated instruction. For grades K-5
This is a website that I send so many of my students to so they can have extra resources outside of the classroom. I also like to show videos from this site during lecture.
