Google Wave - 0 views

  •
Google Wave is an interactive communication and collaboration tool that makes real-time interactions happen. Communication and collaboration can be done using richly formatted text, photos, videos, and maps. You can keep a single copy of ideas, suggested itinerary, menu and RSVPs, rather than using many different tools. Widgets can also be used for weather, maps and more to add to the event. Users can participate or edit the wave at anytime and rewind to see who said what and when. Teachers will find this very useful for editing essays and students will find it very useful for group work. It has a lot of great potential!

Pre-Training 1. Wordle URL: http://www.wordle.net/ Description: Generates "word clouds" from text so that participants can familiarize themselves with words and terms frequently used in the workshop. Explanation: Have always wondered how advertisers managed to arrange words of varying sizes and colors into a visually appealing montage. This software makes the task exceptionally easy. 2. This website allows you to look at the history of computers in an interactive timeline. Students love to look throughout the history by years to see what happened during that timeframe. I love the fact that students can point and click but I would also like for students to be able to see the entire timeline spread out. Students can actively use the timeline to see the concept of computers from inception.
