Educators in the 21st century are met with the challenge of preparing their students to excel in a fast paced global community. ActivInspire is a program that allows teachers to transform traditional, lecture-based classrooms into learning environments infused with imaginative, interactive experiences that captivate students' attention while granting them the freedom to take ownership of their achievement (Promethean, 2012). This collaborative, student-centered program promotes cognitive processing of information. This artifact represents what Mayer (2009) calls dual coding, including both textual and visual components (Mayer, 2009).
