In this artical angry house republicans denounced its lack of spending cuts. It talked about tax increases to those who make over $400,000 along with an icrease in estate taxes. The middles class will still be effected by tax increase, but it didn't exact numbers. It seemed unclear if this was a final decision or if there will be more voting on the subject of taxes and spending cuts,

I found this article very interesting. It explained how house representative Joe Boehner is having trouble dealing with how to deal with the fiscal cliff. He lacks support from his own party and is having trouble dealing with how to avert the fiscal cliff.

The article talks about how the fiscal cliff may impact 401k's.The incentive is to increase tax revenue. The idea it gives is that the money being added to the account is going to be restricted and lower. It is also going to decrease the amount employers can add into their employees' accounts. The impact of the 6 million americans is that there is a prediction that less people would fund or even have 401k plans.

This article talks about how much money the economy would save if they began to use Off Shore wind to meet power demand instead of relying on gas. I think that this is a great idea because our country needs to do anything it can to ttry and get out of dead or not dif themselves any deeper in debt. I am a firm believer that f we have natural resources we should take advantage of them.

I do not think that the debt ceiling should be raised because our country does not need anymore debt and we need to start finding ways to get out of debt instead of just bendning the rules. I do not think the Fiscal Cliff should be out into action either because I believe the middle classes should be aloud a tax break.

The Federal Reserve and four other central banks announced that they will be extending the program that keeps borrowing costs cheap for foreign banks that want to deal in United States dollars.This is to try to lower the cost of shprt term borrowing.This program was only supposed to be extended to February 2013 but got extended to February 2014.This was worked out with many European central banks.The bank of Japan is still deciding if they are extending the program as well.

The article illustrates how the Federal Reserve is dealing with the economy. Even though the unemployment rate has gone down, other factors still play a role in fixing the economy. They are going to try to stabilize price by reinvesting principal payments in holdings of agency debt and agency mortgage and so on.

I feel that since the fiscal cliff is so prominent right now , others need to know what it is. There are too many people that are ignorant or in the dark about this so i feel that this article will help.

This articles talks about the rise of the virtual wallets. Now assuming that it will eventually become part of our society as a "need"...it might just serve as an excuse for its companion item or complementary good the smart phone to rise in sales.

In New York City, workers from several different food chains like McDonald's,KFC, Burger King,Starbucks,and Jimmy Johns were protesting their working conditions.They wanted to be able to unionize and they want higher wages.They want to raise the pay from about $8.75 an hour to $15 an hour.New York Communities for Change have organized several protests across the city to get the workers these two things.These workers are barely making ends meet, and want to do something about it; but these workers are expected to go back to work tomorrow.

This article is about the debate between the Democratic and Republican parties over the tax-hike mandate. Rep. Chris Van Hollen, who's part of the House Democratic team, said that Obama is going to raise taxes for the rich. The Bush tax cuts are ending as well as a trillion dolllars worth of spending cuts. If these cuts ended that apply to a single person's income over $200,000 and married couples' income over $250,000; income taxes would increase by 3.6%. Obama's official position is that he isn't going to sign an extension of tax cuts for those whose income is over a quarter of a million. Republicans want to know what Obama's definition of 'wealthy' is and who falls under that caregory.

This article is about how the economy indicates that there are more jobs now than it did in 2009 when Obama took office. The statistics show that there are about 194,000 more jobs than there was in January 2009. The stimulus did what it needed to do. Today, there is about 12.3 people still unemployed and 40.6% of those people have been for over 6 months.

Our class is without a doubt very opinionated, especially when it comes to the presidential election. Now, I for one is not very politically active, and though I understand many concept spoken in class, I was still missing out on a few stuff I'm sure. The article illustrates the need for to stop using oil and finding new sources of energy. The main idea is that Canada has provided oil to the US for many years. Canadians wanted to to have a pipeline run from their country to Texas, but the US environment lobby has been able to deny this causing many people to not have a job. The environmentalists have been saying that the pipeline would destroy sensitive land and that they should be looking for ways to produce renewable resources.

The article is about how the confidence index rate of consumers has increased since September. Causes of the increased confidence showed to be from mainly the job market. Other factors that added to the increase were gas prices and the housing market. It says that the consumers will face substantial challenges and the rising index will begin to fade.
