Uses of Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK) Methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) is a semi-finished product of pindone. It is used as medicine and dye intermediates. Pesticides produced with o-chlorobenzaldehyde can control aphids on dry crops and fruit trees. The o-chlorobenzaldehyde oximation can obtain o-chlorobenzyl hydrazine, and further chlorination can obtain o-chlorobenzyl hydrazine, both of which are drug intermediates.
