Glogster - the online, interactive bulletin board - 0 views

  • Glogster EDU is the leading global education platform for the creative expression of knowledge and skills in the classroom and beyond.  We empower educators and students with the technology to create GLOGS - online multimedia posters - with text, photos, videos, graphics, sounds, drawings, data attachments and more.
  • A Glog is created using a very easy to understand, drag and drop interface that is relevant, enjoyable, and scalable for students of all ages and learning styles. A Glog is an interactive visual platform in which users create a “poster or web page” containing multimedia elements including: text, audio, video, images, graphics, drawings, and data.

Free online suite of high power media tools. They 'look great'. Haven't had a moment to try them out. Quite sophisticated, they may be more than you need. I did view the demo for their Audio Editor and it's slick. You could create simple podcasts with it no problem, but you'd be using just a smidgen of the toolset available.

  • Create your own Glog. Simply put, a Glog is a kind of poster —fully designed by you! A Glog is a unique creation made up of text, images, music, and video. It can be colorful, edgy, emo, or rock—it’s up to you to make your Glog stand out. Glogs are a perfect way to express who YOU are!

This is a great, quick, and easy-to-use website! You can make digital posters using videos, photos, text, and sound. They can be shared by sending the link to the poster.

Make interactive posters loaded with text, graphics, music, videos, and more.

I would like to have one of the student interns (high school or college) create a Glog about Ellis Island and/or the Statue of Liberty. Once complete, it could be used in education programs (particularly the distance learning program) and as an example for a contest for students and/or other users.

Students can use Glogster as a way to present information to the rest of the class. It is a great choice for those who like to be creative in their presentations. Visual learners appreciate this method.

This site would be a great place to send my students to learn more about the rights they have to use and share creative works

"Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that increases sharing and improves collaboration. "

Creative Commons helps people to share what they have created in an appropriate and legal way. It also makes finding and using creative content legally easier.

    Copyright permission
  •
Allows users to easily incorporate selected copyright notice into materials they create. Helps with questions of copyright but allows information to be used freely. Also has materials others have created and placed in CC.

I like this as a way to enter into the conversation about copyright laws and web content. There are a number of "life in the digital world" aspects that we tend to ignore or avoid in education due to their complexities and our own ignorance. This is a great vehicle to take us into that realm of discussion.
