Use to share photos during a school end of the year celebration. Give a copy of class room work, like a "class" yearbook to students. Show work done on community work.

Pics Viewr A Neat idea for sharing photos.  It could be incorporated into a class lesson where students share pictures back and forth from a project.

I also think that this a great tool. I can see several applications: 1. Create a Storytelling activity based on some of the photos. 2. Choosing one of the templates to be embedded in a PPT. Almudena

Using a tool like this may bring more "life" into the online learning experience especially for those management teams separated by geographic distances. Pictures speak 1000 words!
  •
Great to develop storytelling in the classroom and to reinforce the visual element of our slides.

Does PowerPoint Help or Hinder Student Learning? | Faculty Focus - 3 views

  • oo often we forget how significantly teaching practices shape learning experiences and PowerPoint is a perfect example.
  • Most studies find that PowerPoint has “no measurable influence on course performance and minimal effect on grades
  • Yet students often report a favorable view of PowerPoint, saying it helps them with learning, content organization and note taking. The students in this cohort confirmed these positive effects

  • the software organized lecture content and indicated which points were most important.
  • And then there’s the potential of PowerPoint to oversimplify the material
  • What students need to know is reduced to a bulleted list of five items described in five words or less
  • also worry that using PowerPoint encourages passivity.
  • PowerPoint does not easily accommodate digressions or a change in order that responds to what’s happening at the moment.

Although I seldom use PPT in classes, when I do it is to accommodate digressions. The points help me return to the major points of the activity or lesson.

Record & Share your PowerPoint presentations | Present.me - 8 views

  •
"WHAT IS PRESENT.ME? Present.Me is simply the easiest way to record and share your presentation. With Present.Me you just upload your slides, click record, present into your webcam and then publish instantly on the web"
  •
First, the little video that is an overview of "Present.me" is an example of what a good online presentation should look like. The slides are a visual representation (not a script) of the audio and have simple graphics that enhance the content. This program is available at a basic level for free but I wonder if the "free trial" is indefinite?

Incredible! I thought Powerpoint presentations were getting pretty advanced these day, and then I see this! This has many benefits as others have already mentioned, but to add to theirs, this is an great tool to use if you are working in a group and aren't in the same city because it allows you to co-develop a presentation with people in any location.

I was amazed how easy this site was to improve the whole power point creation process
  •
Some people love these. Might be useful for delivering content online, in a blended class, or in a flipped f2f class.
  •
How successful have people found transferring power point presentations to prezis? I am in the process of creating one on European schools of art, and another for an informational parent meeting. So far, it seems like they are much more interesting to follow than traditional power points.

Yes, being able to use presentation media this way should be very handy.
  •
While the themes are limited, it gives you many of the same abilities as Microsoft's PowerPoint software application. It allows you to add videos, pictures, custom shapes and text boxes. Also, you can create notes and change the layouts of the presentation itself. It makes importing files simple and gives easy access to the presntation you create anywhere as long as you have a computer and internet connection. Along with all of this, you do not have to download any programs or applications to use, just log into the site and access your saved presentations. Though, PowerPoint definitely has more features, for its easy accessability and presentation creation tools, this is a great web application to use.
