I love Prezi! I have wonderfully enhanced many individual and group projects with this software. It transforms the information into an animated, generative, sometimes interactive format, that creates a little temporary world in which the viewer is immersed into the learning of the material.

This website is very helpful when looking for ideas to do in the classroom. There are activities for every age and subject. Some cost money and many are free. I've really enjoyed the things that I have found on this site.

This would be a great thing to use for a quick survey of how students are doing with new material. I just wish my school had a better WIFI connection.

I agree with @areinsburrow that this app would make for a great survey for seeing how students are getting along new material. Using the Marzano learning scales (4-1) is a quick way of gauging understanding, but it would be nice to have something tangible to document individual students' understanding of lessons that way teachers can track their progress. Sometimes in my classroom I feel as though I reach some students too late when teaching new material, and it's hard to catch them up during small group or one-on-one instruction. This is app is a good, anonymous (to others, not the teacher) way of assessing student understanding.

Anyone can learn the basic concepts of Computer Science. Choose an intro activity to start learning.

At the elementary school I work for, we use this website for our computer class. I've tried it myself and I can honestly say that it's pretty fun.

Explore math with desmos.com, a free online graphing calculator I have used Desmos not only in my lessons as a point of references, but I have given students the opportunity to complete a linear equation project using Desmos to create a picture.

I completely agree. Most of my students cannot afford the TI-83 graphing calculators, but almost all of them have smartphones that would allow them to use this app for free. I will definitely be showing this to my classes, although they probably won't be as excited as I was about it!

I like this app. This would have definitely helped me when I took Algebraic Concepts for my undergrad content course. Sure, my class website had a graphing calculator tab that I could use for homework. But I found it really difficult to navigate and very hard to see. If I was still taking that class, I would definitely share it with my classmates, because as you mentioned alexamoore621 TI-83 calculators are pricey. Although, now that I think about it, it would be hard to convince my professor to let us use it in class...he had a no cell phone use during exams, even if the phone had an app.

This was shared with me in another class by M.Patton and I thought I would share it here and the manipulative are very useful and easy to work with.  

This is a great tool for all of my math people! Creating interactives is a little bit tricky, but a quick search will give you ready-made interactives to enhance your lessons. I have used these with a lot of success for teaching transformations of functions and have created activitites to go along with them.

I really like NCTM's Virtual Manipulative apps.

I use these all the time in my classroom! The students always love to see something different, even if it is just for a quick demonstration.

This website allows you or students to create interactive timelines that can include pictures, videos, and quiz questions.

Just heard about Desmos Classroom in January.   Played with it just a little bit, but I am impressed with what I have seen so far!

The list of available suppliers of this technology was helpful. I went to the Mimeo site which had good videos of different features of their system, which seems to be cheaper than SMART. I read the idea of using these boards to record lessons for substitute teachers to use, which seemed a great way to not waste those substitute days.

ISSUE: An increasing number of educators are calling for high standards and challenging learning activities for at-risk students. New technologies can provide meaningful learning experiences for all children, especially those at risk of educational failure. Schools that capitalize on the relationship between technology and education reform will help students to develop higher order skills and to function effectively in the world beyond the classroom.

I came across this site as a hub for classroom blog creation.

Wordle generates word clouds from text that students type into the program. Font/layout/color can all be adjusted. Wordle offers a valuable visual exercise in text play and multiple intelligences.

Learn21 provides engaging Web-based games and resources for students in grades Pre-K to 12th.

Internet Archive is a non-profit digital library offering free universal access to books, movies & music, as well as 435 billion archived web pages. I used this site in an Emerging Trends class. We were learning about protecting our ideas.
