Using GPS and Geocaching in the core curriculum has become a powerful tool in enhancing student understanding of geography, scientific inquiry, math concepts, physical education, problem solving, and language arts. Students in this picture are mapping a local park. It was an easy 5 minute walk to the park. The teacher planned out waypoints for the student to log as part of a larger introduction to how GPS units work.

eXpressions is combining art and STEM to help students achieve in health fields.

ZaneEducation.com is an ondemand educational video subscription website providing over 1,000 online videos to cater for the requirements of the K12 curriculum. All videos are subtitled to aid in the improvement of each students reading literacy level. Each video is accompanied by am interactive quiz to test the student on what they have learnt from the video they have watched. This website provides an excellent resource for homeschooling and homeschool students and will save money on the amount that homeschoolers often have to spend on textbooks. The K12 curriculum subjects subjects catered for include Art, Music, Literature, Maths, History, Geography, Science, Biology, Social Sciences, Library Skills, Health and Religious Studies. Zane is a name well established in the education market having previously published over 250 CD-ROM titles which are in use in schools and homeschools across the country. Their online service at www.zaneeducation.com now supercedes their PowerCD CD-ROM titles and offers great value for money.

The first millennium and the few centuries preceding it saw the flourishing of higher education at Nalanda, Takshila, Ujjain, & Vikramshila Universities. Art, Architecture, Painting, Logic, Grammar, Philosophy, Astronomy, Literature, Buddhism, Hinduism, Arthashastra (Economics & Politics), Law, and Medicine were among the subjects taught and each university specialized in a particular field of study.

The focal point for this project is How I Spent My Summer Vacation by Mark Teague. Participating classrooms can write their own summer vacation adventure story or calculate the miles traveled during their vacation. Both activities will be shared via the Internet. Project begins August 31st.
