Blubbr is a neat quiz creation service that I recently learned about on Free Technology for Teachers. Using Blubbr you can create interactive quizzes that are based on YouTube clips. Your quizzes can be about anything of your choosing. The structure of the quizzes has a viewer watch a short clip then answer a multiple choice question about the clip. Viewers know right away if they chose the correct answer or not.  Great for reinforcing a topic on internet safety, social netiquette, social skills etc.

A brilliant, 'must try' web tool for group to text/voice chat, with a collaborative whiteboard, document viewer and more, all in real time. I'm really loving this tool at the moment for joint language lessons with my school's Chinese partner school. Nice for embedding pdf or PPT files on your webpage, or providing a link to the file that can be viewed right in the browser. However, the document must be uploaded somewhere online first - must have a URL to access it.

A useful site that allow you to upload text files, images, PDFs, Microsoft Office and other files and view them in real time with other people on the web. Each user's mouse cursor can be seen on the viewer and you can communicate using the chat tool. A new Web 2.0 service facilitates compilation of "learning playlists" containing links to articles and videos that educators can make available to their students and others. MentorMob, from a company by the same name, is a free Web site that provides a repository for aggregating and organizing online educational resources. Once material is added, the viewer, such as a student, can work through the playlist in "steps."

"How to integrate less distracting YouTube videos into the classroom:  This one is really a no brainer: want to use YouTube? Clean it up!  I find great content I find on YouTube (as do my students). All of the "extras" around the videos can be SO distracting as a searcher and viewer.  These options are outstanding for making videos less distracting so that your students can focus on the learning happening."

This is an amazing site that allows you to share your screen live with up to 250 viewers for free. You can even view the screencast on ipad/iPhone and Android phones. Perhaps most exciting of all is that you can use the site to control the viewed computer remotely, a useful feature for fixing any computer problems from afar. The coolest dictionary known to hombre!  Creates an interactive dictionary from what you are reading, text or web.  It remembers all the words you look up so that you can review later.

First log in to your Google Drive Click on the upload button After the upload of the video. select it and click on the Share button to change viewing access from Private to Public if you want to host it on a blog or website. Right-click on the uploaded video file and select Open with - Google Drive Viewer.

The best inspirational movies leave an indelible impression on the viewer. In this selection I've chosen 35; from Oscar winners to cult favorites, they're worthy of anyone's DVD collection. In an attempt to avoid this list being cliché, I've picked films you may not have seen before, and ones which may have slipped from your memory. As a result, you won't find certain well known films below, such as Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, and Shawshank Redemption. The exceptional films on offer should, hopefully, make up for it!

On Dotstorming you can have people submit ideas in the forms of text, image, and video links. All submissions appear in a grid where viewers can then vote and comment on the submissions. Recently, Dotstorming added a couple of new features that teachers will find helpful.
