A student (or more than one) could be assigned to be the notetaker for the day. Each day the notetaker changes. The rest of the students can view the notes as a homework assignment. This would mean students could be active participants in the classroom without the worry of taking notes

Multimedia online note taking tool. Students can capture screen images, make audio recordings for notes, or write text notes to accompany drawings. These different media can then be organized into videos!  I envision it being similar to Evernote with more interaction capabilities and with the great addition of being able to create videos of the information gathered. I like this tool!

Great example of how a tool like a smartphone with video can be used to create really clear instructional segments to support of flip instruction. It doesn't have to be fancy... only clear and developmentally appropriate.

Is the Frayer model I am using a good note taking tool?

If a student can score equally well on a test reviewing the instructors notes attending the lecture or not, what does that say about the instructors ability to present information they deem important or testable in their notes? I would not disagree that students often struggle with notetaking, but the study also also raises questions about the way we teach.
