"You are violating copyright if you have not gotten express PERMISSION from the copyright holder OR are using pics that are public domain, creative commons, etc. I didn't know better and I had to learn the hard way. Thank you so much for sharing this! As an educator, I always believed that if I posted a picture on the district site and just gave credit to where I got the picture I was clear with copyright. Now I know better. Perhaps you've underwent this experience to help so many others like me to better understand copyright...
