Digital Wish - About Digital Wish - 5 views

a website to empower teachers to solve their own technology shortfalls by connecting classrooms with their communities using the Internet. A year later, launched with a simple wish list feature and a few technology products. The need for classroom technology was so great that 1,000 teachers posted wishes in the first month. With such high demand, we began the process of turning Digital Wish into an official nonprofit organization.

The 350 Best Education Resources Chosen By You | Edudemic - 152 views

The problem with this list is half of them are self nominated and sites that are locked to requesting membership I'm order to eliminate spammers are excluded from entering awards. My group and site Technology Integration in Education had maybe 15000 followers when you include Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, and its own site and has been nominated a few years on a row but never gets the nod because it is not an open site.

PhotoPin - Free Photos for Bloggers via Creative Commons - 199 views

Photo Pin is a new website offering images that can be re-used for blog entries, video productions, slideshows, and print media. Photo Pin uses a combination of Flickr's API for Creative Commons search and Fotolia's image library to serve-up royalty-free images. The search results page on Photo Pin clearly delineates between images that are free to use and images that you have to purchase. Applications for Education If you're looking for a new way to find Creative Commons-licensed images for yourself or your students, Photo Pin could be a good option for you. I like that Photo Pin offers a clear reminder to users that they must correctly link to the sources of the images that they choose to use.
Search Creative Commons photos adn attribute them for your blog or website easily
useful for creative commons images - free and subscription based but none free ones usually have sponsored across the corner of the thumbnail

'absolutely intercultural!' - 21 views

Welcome to the first ever intercultural podcast. 'absolutely intercultural!' is its name and, as far as we know, this is the first podcast in the world to deal with intercultural issues. We'll be releasing a new episode every second Friday evening, looking at all intercultural aspects of human intercultural communication. For example, we'll be hearing from students on foreign work placements, asking how teachers can make use of intercultural exercises and simulations in their classroom and sharing with you any intercultural gossip we come across. 'absolutely intercultural!' won't be so much about passing on information but more about starting an intercultural dialogue between the makers, and you, the contributors and listeners.
