    This is an amazing site which allows multiple users to collaborate in real time on a multimedia canvas. You can add documents, embedded websites, audio, video, images and more by uploading them or grabbing them from the web. Then just click and drag your content into place. You can invite others to collaborate on your creation and then share or embed on your site. Creativity never looked so simple.

    Yes this was recently reviewed in a class for teaching ELL's with technology and we discussed the classroom capabilities (NEIU Chicago). It has a lot of potential and many graphic and style to chose from. On this note it was felt by the reviewers of the tool that it would be best used for older students. To have teacher control, the teacher should start each mural and give the group the link so that the teacher can monitor what is being developed by the students. The teacher should have control over the group and monitor content. I would like to see more suggestions regarding this tool.

Instant Screen Sharing | Screenleap - 73 views

    Free screen sharing from any device, including smart phones and tablets. Hmm ... does this replace reflections or Apple TV in presentations?
  •
    I like this one but could someone comment on how their experiences was when using it, and what did they use it for. This would be helpful.

    Mary Vaughn writes:  Want to share and collaborate across the classroom?  How about across the state or further?  http://www.screenleap.com/ is the perfect tool to do that.  Easy to use, all you have to do is download the java applet and you're ready to share your screen with anyone at anytime.  This works in tandem with apple devices or any device that has internet connection.  Unfortunately, right now it's a one-way deal - you'll have to use a pc or mac to share.  It gives a simple code or website you can share with others to see your screen.  There's a little lagtime but not terribly so.  So, if you have teachers who have data projectors going on the fritz, want to do a PLC with other colleagues, or whatever collaboration you're working with, this could be the perfect tool.  Hint:  use the tabs to open up different websites - you have to keep the original screenleap up and running.

Dropbox - Simplify your life - 93 views

      Use dropbox to keep track of files you need at home, work, and anywhere else you might be. It provides you the ability to access your files from any location, allow others to "drop" files into your dropbox, and to share any files you have placed in there. You can use it for student work or just as a personal productivity tool.
    • Kalin Wilburn

      It has to be downloaded on your computer so if you want to use this at school you will need your tech coordinator's permission.

      Dropbox synchs with your smart phone like an iphone, and it also synchs with tablets like the ipad.  This way I can carry my files no matter where I am.

      I am not sure, but the idea of bringing referals to increase storage are awesome.

    This is an amazing solution for storing, sharing, and back up your data. The ability to access files from any computer & mobile devices makes this a great solution. Up to 2GB storage free! Learn more about the public folder to share files with others, while keeping your other files private. I have it on both my Apple computers and on two PCs. This rocks!

    I love my Dropbox!! It makes life so much easier!
  •
    I have it too, and have used it for a couple of years now to go between my mac at school and PC at home. I recently blogged about it here: http://www.educationtechnologyblog.com/1/post/2010/08/dropbox-for-educators.html

    @Jonathon, thanks for sharing the blog post. I'll pass that along to others. @Cathy, thanks for confirming it's been a useful tool.

    One of the leading and best online file storage option. It works across many different devices and is great for teachers who like to travel light. Download required. Basic package is free with 'paid for' option with more storage. Easily share files with others.

    "Think of Stixy as your online bulletin board. Create as many Stixyboards as you like, one for each project. Use Stixy to easily organize and share:

    * Your family's schedule
    * Projects at work
    * An upcoming holiday with your friends
    * Your photos from your last bike trip
    * Or share a file or two with a friend

    Only you set the limitations for how you want to use Stixy."

Organize your resources in an online binder - LiveBinders - 14 views

  •
    LiveBinders are the best way to organize and share information online. Live Binders could be an excellent tool for students to use to create online booklets of resources they find online combined with content that they've created. Or students could build Live Binders to showcase the work that they've done.
