"The Finnish group used a methodology called "Booksprint" which was developed to produce manuals for Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS). The method has already been used to produce over 40 FLOSS manuals. Booksprints involve a large number of individuals with various relevant backgrounds working collaboratively, either remotely or locally, to produce published books, usually within 2-5 days. The method requires intensive pre-planning culminating in an "unconference" at which the text is written, edited and prepared for publication. Participants make extensive use of open source methodologies and tools to facilitate sharing, versioning, and tracking, ex. using GitHub."

Although there's some disagreement as to whether distance education is more susceptible to academic dishonesty than other forms of instruction, what isn't up for debate is the fact that for as long as there's been exams, there's been cheating on exams. The online environment simply opens up a different set of challenges that aren't typically seen in traditional face-to-face courses.

Zotero is an open-source program developed by George Mason University's Center for History and the New Media. You have to teach your students how to use it, but it is time well spent. They can create individual and group libraries, automatically create bibliographies and citations in CMS, MLA, APA, etc., and grow research skills. I have been to a different school nearly every single year of my life trying to find the "perfect" school. OHSU is my perfect school. This is my second year at OHSU and the teachers here are amazing! They call me weekly just to check up on me and offer to tutor me whenever I am struggling. The courses and curriculum are great. It is easy to navigate and understand the material and if I don't understand something, my teachers are only a Skype call away! I also love OHSU because it is very flexible. It makes school a lot easier to do when I can finish my schoolwork on my own time.

A free design course to encourage programmers/hackers into developing solid design skills, but most of the content is relevant to anyone wanting to improve their design skills (covers design in general including industrial design, web design, UX, etc). Some excellent resources are already available.
