Contemporary Floating Home in Seattle - 0 views

  • Contemporary Floating Home in Seattle From Vandeventer + Carlander Architects comes a modern home design located on Lake Union, right in the city center. How fascinating it is to have a house on a lake! It would be interesting to know what the address of this home is. You probably did not see this coming, but there are a lot of similar floating houses on Lake Union. In fact, if I recall correctly, Tom Hanks owned one in the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”. This particular project was meant as a contemporary looking building with plenty of entertainment space. As you can see in the pictures below, there are many decks and the large floor to ceiling windows allow great views of the city in every direction. This is not exactly the most intimate crib, but it’s okay, as long as the owners don’t mind.

Beautiful House Integrated in the Natural Environment of the Residential Area - 0 views

  • Beautiful House Integrated in the Natural Environment of the Residential Area The initial idea of this project is to integrate the house in the natural environment of the residential area in which it is. In that way, the house looks to the fantastic views of lakes and green extensions that spread over the common areas of the estate. The structure’s house is based on game of two rectangular volumes. They are solving with clean finishes, good materials and exclusive qualities. The verandas and the pergolas, elements as volumetric as the housing, give personality to the facade. The covering as such disappears turning into a flat roof as expression of the evolution of the creative process. The forms purity moves to the constructive scheme, to the materials and to the environment impelling the union between the building and the context where it is located. The housing, of 800m2 of surface, develops in a height. The principal access adapts itself to an area of average slope.Inside the following stays are located: foyer, room of kitchen is, dining room, office, larder, a cleaning of courteousness, seven bedrooms (with his respective baths, two dressing-rooms and a patio. In the later part, across big large windows, there is lounge that is opened for the garden, the swimming pool and for the natural scenery that offers the urban development. It surrounds itself with a landscaping realized with attractive interventions composed by lakes, birds and a big arboreal extension. In the exterior the pedestrian ways and the central landscaped area incorporate a vegetation of indigenous character, resistant to the climate of the area. The stockades of every plot and the trees and shrubs planted along the same ones, they delimit perfectly the transit between the private ownership and the community one. Contemporaneous Eco-Friendly Container Home in Chile - 0 views

• Practical and Easy to use 5 in 1 Outlet » « Fresh and Inspiring Sky&Clouds Interior Theme Contemporaneous Eco-Friendly Container Home in Chile Infiniski Manifesto House is a beautiful project from Infiniski designers James&Mau (Jaime Gaztelu and Mauricio Galeano). Eco-friendly, made from reused and recycled materials, this modular architectonic beauty sits tall in Curacavi, Chile. The interior design and furniture was created by Comodo and different styles were mixed in order to achieve an elegant  and modern interior. Manifesto`s exterior is made from wooden panels on one side and from recycled pallets on the other.  The exterior panels describe a very important feature in all Infinski designs: eco-friendly sustainability. Being made out of wood coming from sustainable forests, the panelling had to be placed smartly so that air can circulate and cool down the entire house. The two floors are actually four containers mounted on top of each other. On the bottom floor, a large opened living area was created. Huge windows and sliding doors help to naturally ventilate the home. A nice addition is the porch`s folding screen that offers shade and comfort in the warm Chile weather. It only took 90 days to take this from an empty terrain to a modern, contemporaneous and ecologic home. On the 160 square meters rests a lot of hope for the future. Colours, textures and natural materials, combined with renewable energy sources used in more and more homes all over the world bring a better understanding of the surroundings.  This home not only uses renewable energy but it can be constructed very fast and it doesn`t cost much. These characteristics are of extreme importance in a fast paced world where resources are dwindling. 61Share Posted in Architecture | By Adriana | 3   Ready for more amazing design ideas?
