Kid-friendly news articles for teachers, parents and kids. The great thing about this site is that it allows you to track current events and make classroom learning relevant to the real world yet the articles are written at a level (e.g., vocabulary, sentence structure, concepts) that most middle school kids can easily follow. The site also provides lesson plan guidance for teachers if they wish.

A good article highlighting the fact that people can screen capture snapchat temporary photos (thus making them permanent). Apparently, the app will tell you if someone has captured your image but the damage will be done by that point.

Excellent article that positions what does it mean to be an effective citizen? What roles should our schools play in developing effective citizens? I like how it puts forth that our definition of "good citizen" has changed over the ages.
