Three pioneers in the Finnish Open Data scene, Open Knowledg Finland, The Finnish Independency Fund SITRA and Helsinki Region Infoshare (HRI) launched new funding instrument, Datademo on Friday 7th February. They are set out to search for ideas that make use of open data in order to promote democracy and are offering developers micro funding of 2000 euros each.
We tend to forget is if we teach clear and comprehensive expectations about behavior we have pretty much all our technology bases covered in regard to digital citizenship.
Why? The reason why is because there is no such thing as digital citizenship. It's just citizenship. The rules don't change just because you have a screen in front of you.

What do you need in your village?
A project collecting ideas from citizens on how to develop their villages located close to the city of Mikkeli. The idea is to shift the focus from the city to the surrounding villages. The ideas will be taken to panel discussions and taken further together with experts and the representatives from the city of Mikkeli.
