CCS Architecture is a group of San Francisco and New York interior designers and architects.The foundation of their work is modern yet they strive to be innovative while practical with their interior design. When asked to design a family beach house in Stinson Beach, CA, CCS Architecture did not just design a beautiful vacation home, but went above and beyond, following a rigorous sustainability program. They achieved the Marin Planning Department’s highest rating for resource efficiency for their work.

The living room features a rotating fire orb that can warm the interior or deck as needed. There are also articulated skylights that create patterned light and add to the interior design.

The overall theme and inspiration for this design came from a combination of Rockwell’s experiences as he worked on the JetBlue airways terminal at John F. Kennedy International airport and the sets of Broadway musical, Catch Me If You Can. Rockwell Group successfully created a facade, public spaces and rooms that will appeal to tech-savvy, on-the-go world travelers. Though typically interior designers recommend against investing in trends, mirrors are one trend that you can safely invest in without fear of it going out of style. However, as with any trend, there are certain guidelines you should adhere to. For example, avoid trendy finishes on the mirror, such as etching or embedded trim, as these can date the mirror and look them out of style. Remember, however, that your frames can easily be swapped out as your style of home decor changes and you can find frames in traditional, contemporary or modern styles.
