When asked to design a family beach house in Stinson Beach, CA, CCS Architecture did not just design a beautiful vacation home, but went above and beyond, following a rigorous sustainability program. They achieved the Marin Planning Department’s highest rating for resource efficiency for their work.

He is known for methodology-driven design philosophy focussing on contextual adaptation rather than imposing a signature aesthetic. The jury commended Liu for "affirming architecture that celebrates the lives of ordinary citizens" and for his ability to create communal spaces in dense urban landscapes. Team IAnD congratulates Ar. Liu for this enormous achievement.
