ScribLink is a free online, Java based whiteboard tool that users can share in real-time. When you go to the site, a whiteboard is automatically loaded for you to use, so there's not even a need to register. The user invites others to collaborate on the whiteboard, and it's even possible to save print or even email the work. The tool also has a built in chat too, and voice over IP conferencing - so talk for free as long as you want!!! ScribLink also allow users to transfer files to each other, and now there's even an iPhone group messaging app.

Delicious - 0 views

Delicious, as the sort of "grandfather" of social bookmarking sites, is a great resource if you 1) have friends or people that you'd want to share bookmarks with...2) you don't mind a monochromatic theme... I actually really like Delicious BUT sometimes, my eyes go crazy because of the plain old black and white theme...I think that makes it hard to find information. I also really like that the website streams the most recent and most popular bookmarked websites...

I would use Tumblr in my classroom as a platform where my posts would be the primary source and students would be requested to add a post to my initial post after every class with any questions, comments or concerns they had about the lesson. This would be an integral part of the classroom which would be introduced on the first day of class and would be followed throughout the duration of the classroom. Responses to the posts would be factored in to the student's final grade.

Mindomo is a versatile Web-based mind mapping tool, delivering the capabilities of desktop mind mapping software in a Web browser - with no complex software to install or maintain. Create, edit mind maps, and share them with your colleagues or your friends.

I would use this tool, MindOMO, in my Spanish classroom because I would use it to have student link key grammar concepts or vocabulary words together. This would help them see how grammar concepts in Spanish are intermingled and therefore it would help them get a better grasp on the language.

Office Live - 0 views

  •
I would use Office Live in my classroom by giving it to students as an option for completing their work collaboratively with other students from the comfort of their own home. I think that group work is key to helping students really grasp concepts and taking responsibility for portions of assignments so, while I would not use this as a platform for teaching or providing feedback, I would present this to my students who need a way to work together outside of school.

Buzzsprout Podcasting - 0 views

Although I don't plan on using any sort of podcasting in my classroom as a mode of instruction, I might consider using it as a way for students to make up missed lectures or instruction. This would hopefully help students reduce stress in that they would know that if they miss class, important information can be caught up online through listening to my podcast.

Build Your Wild Self - 0 views

  •
I would use this in my Spanish classroom by having students build a version of themselves and then have them describe their characteristics & features using adjectives and animal names in Spanish. This is a great way to allow students to open up and create a fun character version of themselves. This could be used as a cross-curricular project involving science and genetics.

A.nnotate - 0 views

  •
A.nnotate is an easy way to annotate documents online and collaborate annotating and note taking with peers. I don't think I would use this in my classroom, I think it would be better used as a personal study tool; one that the teacher could recommend to students looking for help with their study skills but I would not require it.

This is a great tool for adults looking for a safe way to let their children or students browse the web. This Internet browser (from the makers of Firefox) lets parents rest assured that their kids are safe online and lets teachers rest assured that their students are not being inundated with falsified or inappropriate information.

OpenOffice - 0 views

Open source productivity suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, databases and graphics, very much like Microsoft's Office. One of the best features about OpenOffice, when compared to Microsoft Office is OpenOffice applications can usually open many more file formats without the need for special add-ons.

Mind42 is a free browser-based collaborative mind mapping service. "NoteMesh is like Wikipedia for your [class] notes". This service makes it possible for students in the same class (created in NoteMesh) to aggregate their notes. If users want to start a class, they just complete a form and NoteMesh creates a wiki page for the class. students who add the class to their roster could post notes to the wiki. Ultimately, you "collaborate to graduate".
