    An insight into how the 9/11 memorial was designed. The designers wanted to arrange the names so they were adjacent to the names of others they had connections with. Jer Thorpe (this is from his blog) and Jake Barton designed a complex technical solution that's invisible to anyone visiting the memorial but essential in managing the combination of names and architectural design.
