Vital Points to Follow Before Creating Your Business Logo - 0 views

  •
"We all know that first impression is the last impression. A company's logo design gives the whole picture of their respective business, thus it should be taken very seriously. One should avoid taking the risk and get their company's logo designed from a professional web designing company known for its exclusive work. A lot of businesses waste their money on their logo design just because they aren't aware of how to get if designed. Always get your logo designed professionally to avoid the disappointment. Owning a quality logo not only represents professionalism but also shows the expert and specialized image of that certain company."

Google Can't Do Old Media; Pulls the Plug on Radio Ads - 0 views

  •
Google's plans to extend its AdWords platform to traditional media appears to be going up in smoke as the economy falters. The company has announced that it's discontinuing its radio advertising program, a business it got into back in 2006 with the acquisition of dMarc Broadcasting. The news follows word that Google would be pulling out of print advertising as well, which was announced less than a month ago.

  • Writing CSS is very much like having sex. Not everyone does it the same way and there is no particular “right” way to do it. I guess for me the similarities actually end there, seeing as writing CSS is something I do every day whereas having sex is…anyway I digress. The W3C have set the standards but beyond this, writing CSS is down to an individual’s preferences. Here are 5 little tips and ideas I’ve adopted in the last 6 months that you can use to make your CSS more streamlined, maintainable and easy to read. Written by Jon Disclaimer: The CSS example files are exactly that. They are not meant to be fully functional CSS documents. Class names in the CSS files are named merely so that you may visualise the document in your head (because there is no accompanying html), not because I condone the naming convention in them.
  • 1) Make a table of contents At the top of your CSS document, write out a table of contents. For example, you could outline the different areas that your CSS document is styling (header, main, footer etc). Then, use a large, obvious section break to separate the areas. Not only does this make your CSS look neater, but when it comes to making quick adjustments to certain areas of your website at a later date, finding the corresponding area in your CSS will be much easier. View Example File 1
  • 3) Isolate single properties that you are likely to reuse a lot If you find yourself using a single property a lot, isolate it to save yourself repeating it over and over again and also enabling you to change the display of all parts of the site that use it. View Example File 3

Should Twitter Verify Celebrity Accounts? - 0 views

  •
The Dalai Lama joined Twitter this weekend, or so it seemed. At least, the Office of His Holiness The Dalai Lama was apparently making use of the messaging service under the username @ohhdl. Or was it?The account was promoting the official Dalai Lama website, and responding respectfully to inquiries. The story spread rapidly on blogs and - of course - on Twitter. At its peak, the account surpassed 16,000 followers.

Have You Ever Seen Inside a Google Data Center - 0 views

  •
Google and other members of the IT industry recently joined at Google Data Centre Efficiency Submit at Calif, Mountain View, to discuss best practices for building and measuring data center efficiency. The idea behind this submit is tosave resources such as electricity and water is not just good for the environment, it makes good business sense too. Being "green" reduces operating costs and can keep our industry competitive; it is this economic advantage that makes efficiency truly sustainable.

Google Android a Possible Alternative to Windows in HP Notebooks - 0 views

  •
Hewlett-Packard confirmed Tuesday that it is testing Google's Android operating system as a possible alternative to Windows in some of its netbook computers. "Right now Android is barely finished for phones," said Avi Greengart, an analyst at Current Analysis. While it works well enough for T-Mobile's G1 smartphone, the software was released only last year and "the UI still feels half-finished," he said.

I'm going to begin with a provocative claim: I believe CSS is one of the most difficult-to-master computer languages we have. It doesn't have a complex syntax and you certainly don't need a doctorate in IT to understand it. However, it's one of the only popular languages that isn't "logical" - and I mean that in the most literal sense.

Layout Gala: a collection of 40 CSS layouts based on the same markup and ready for down... - 0 views

shared by Jason Bao on 14 Feb 07 - Cached
  • In November 2005 I presented on pro.html.it a three-part article on creating CSS layouts using techniques like negative margins, any order columns and in some case opposite floats. The main goal of the article was getting the maximum number of layouts based on the same markup, each with valid CSS and HTML, without hacks nor workaround and a good cross-browser compatibility. The result is a set of 40 layouts that we've thought worth sharing: on each of them you'll find also a download link (if you want, you can download the entire collection, 40 HTML pages in a single zip file). Further details can be found below the gallery.

This is the One for stock Android lovers. - 0 views

"Handset makers and wireless carriers love to load up Google's Android platform with custom overlays, user interface tweaks, and third-party programs that don't ship natively with the open source operating system. That's great for them, but most power users would prefer a clean version of Android to work with, which is why the third-party ROM community is popular. Well, following in the footsteps of Samsung and it's custom S4 that was announced at Google I/O, HTC is reportedly kicking around the idea of offering a Google Edition of its One smartphone. News of the custom HTC One comes from Russell Holly over at Geek.com. Citing un-named sources, Holly says the Google Edition device would be offered in the U.S. first, though it's unclear if it would be carried in the Play Store like the Galaxy S4 will be. Other details are equally light and vague, though Holly claims an official announcement could come within the next two weeks, with a release likely planned for sometime this summer." Wireless headphones for Apple Products - 0 views

  •
"Looking for a pair of wireless headphones to complement your super tight jeans? JayBird's SB2 Sportsband headphones should serve as the perfect tech-cessory for your 80′s inspired hipster wardrobe thanks to their wide headband and small collection of colors ranging from subtle to almost neon. But what's that you say? You embrace the 80′s except when it comes to technology? Well you'll be happy to know that in addition to Bluetooth A2DP support, the headphones also support the newer apt-X Bluetooth audio codec, which is apparently included in Apple's new Mac Mini. However, if you wanted to take advantage of its CD-quality wireless sound with other gear like the iPhone. The iSport (pictured above) which is compatible with the iPhone and other iDevices, or the uSport which connects to the headphone jack of pretty much any other audio source. like with most Bluetooth headphones they include buttons on the side for controlling your music, as well as an integrated mic for making calls." Adata Launches XPG V2 DRAM with Redesigned Heatspreaders - 0 views

  •
Adata is clearly making a fashion statement with the redesigned heatspreaders it slapped onto its new XPG V2 series of DRAM products designed for 3rd Generation Intel Core processors and the Z87 platform. While beauty might be in the eye of the beholder, performance is in the hands of the designer and Adata's binning process. The new modules will come in dual-channel kits of 8GB and 16GB ranging in frequency from 1600MHz to 2800MHz. The highest frequency kits (8GB and 16GB DDR3-2800) will run at CL12-14-14-36 with 1.65V, while the rest are rated slightly tighter at CL11-13-13-35 at either 1.65V or 1.5V, depending on the kit.
