As we move into discussions of social networks, I wanted to share with the group the Socialnomics link, by Eric Qualman. He has come out with a couple of brilliant videos which profess the impact of social networks in our world. Be sure to check out the Socialnomics 2010 video!

I found this interesting since I discovered a $20 charge from Zynga on our credit card statement from last month.

This article explains how Facebook is deciding to allow third-party app developers to have access to the users phone number and address. It explains that Facebook is taking some precautions to make sure that this feature is as safe as possible, but others mentioned in the article do not agree that it is enough.

Front page of WSJ today addresses valuations of the social networks and offerings to buy Twitter. The article questions the valuations of these companies. I thought it might be of special interest to those of us majoring in business/accounting/finance.

Very interesting article about how the Egyptian Government pulled the plug. Also talks about legislation in the US Congress that would give the President authority to pull the plug on us.
