free time lapse photography software for a while now and finally found Perios. Perios is a tiny download and very, very simple to use. For my first movie I set the software to record one frame every five seconds but I feel I need to continue experimenting for improved results. Once the software captures all the still pics you have to export them as a movie file. I then added all the credits and music in Movie Maker. Too easy!!! The only hassle I had with the software was trying to get it to work with a webcam. I eventually just stuck with the built in camera in my laptop. Possible Time Lapse Subjects - flower blooming / plant growth - spider spinning a web - tracking shadow movement throughout a day - artwork being made - a classic game of chess - the classroom working - lego construction - snail race - decomposing fruit - butterfly hatching - traffic outside your window for surveys - is the movement of the lunchtime crowd fractal? - fill up and ant farm and record tunnel creation - growing of crystals - your fish tank - clouds across the sky / storm coming

Add a Customized Twitter Widget to your Blogger Blog - 0 views

  •
Twitter has become one of the most useful social applications for bloggers. Many bloggers choose to feature their latest updates in a widget visible in their blogs." I see this as an opportunity to 'microblog' short thoughts and have them posted to a blog or e-portfolio. Later, they might be developed into full posts when the author has time to reflect. Twitter is great for sharing short bursts of ideas (140 characters or less). I think it helps make expression of ideas more concise with that limitation.

Berio Screen Movies - 0 views

  •
The advent of Mac OS X Leopard introduced a lot of cool new stuff, including Podcast Producer: a self-contained, automated way to create podcasts of presentations, etc. However, Podcast Producer's screen recording feature is only unleashed when your Leopard is able to authenticated to a Leopard server; hence Berio. Free, unsupported screen recording goodness that's great for creating tutorial movies, demonstration content and illustrative animations.

Twitter Your Lesson Plans » TeachEng.us - 0 views

How about a quick lesson plan? How abouttwitter.png a way to keep a shorthand record of daily class activities? Then how about twitter? Start a Twitter profile (a separate one just for teaching, so not to annoy your friends), and at the end of each class day jot down what you did in class (see below for my Monday, Feb. 11th). Networking with other subject area teachers will encourage collaboration on similar lessons. And possibly (though we teachers would hope not in a 1984 kind of way), an administrator could link in and keep tabs. If I were a curriculum person in an administration, the first thing I would do would be to set up accounts for each teacher to post one daily update.

  • A wiki is a website where users can add, remove, and edit every page using a web browser. It's so terrifically easy for people to jump in and revise pages that wikis are becoming known as the tool of choice for large, multiple-participant projects. In this Article: Wikis Work for Big Projects Choosing a Wiki Advantages to Using a Wiki Disadvantages to Using a Wiki Using a Wiki Somewhere, in a dimly lit classroom, a library bench, or in a home study, some lucky so-and-so is writing an essay from beginning to end with no notes. This splendid individual is able to craft entire sections without forgetting by the end what the section was intended to include at the beginning, and can weave a carefully paced argument with thoughts and references collected over a period of months, all perfectly recollected. Neither of your authors is this person. Instead, we need help, and that help comes in the shape of a wiki. A wiki is a website where every page can be edited in a web browser, by whomever happens to be reading it. It's so terrifically easy for people to jump in and revise pages that wikis are becoming known as the tool of choice for large, multiple-participant projects. This tutorial is about how to effectively use a wiki to keep notes and share ideas amongst a group of people, and how to organize that wiki to avoid lost thoughts and encourage serendipity.
