Web-based application Pixolu helps you find images by their similarity to each other. Enter a search term and Pixolu searches the image indexes of Google, Yahoo, and Flickr. Once Pixolu returns results, you can further refine them by dragging images to a holding area on the lower right corner of the interface. In my test run, I searched for pumpkins. I specifically wanted pictures of lots of pumpkins gathered together but not pictures of Jack o' Lanterns or pumpkin pie. By dragging and dropping pictures of multiple pumpkins from my initial search into the sidebar and refining the search, Pixolu narrowed down the remaining images into just those of tons of pumpkins clustered together.

Micosoft is embracing web-based solutions

This is a very nice blogging application. Would be nice if it were multiplatform. Microsoft gets a lot of heat for crappy things but this one of the things coming out that is actually fairly good.

EffectGenerator makes it relatively easy to add different effects to your photos, and best of all you don't need to register with the site to use it. Select a template and start creating your slideshow. You can upload the photos from your computer or add by URL. Flickr search is integrated into the application.

Beautiful site and looks like the software is super easy to use to virtually look at anything in space. Big wow factor. Only drawback is that it takes some hefty computing power to run the software. For example, while the minimum RAM is 1 GB, they recommend 2 GB AND while 1 GB minimum hard drive is okay, they suggest 10GB. Now for most people, only the RAM will be the issue. However, it is so cool, I'd love to run out and get a PC with the power to run this application.
