Personally I'd feel limited without a second screen so I can face the class while operating the computer. With a projector and a laptop this would be more suited for my way of teaching.
I imagine a 40" screen is in the small side for showing things off in the classroom. It would probably work well for Keynote presentations, but any UI elements when demonstrating software would be hard to see from a distance.
