In China, very small aperture terminal (VSAT) communication service refers to the transmission of voice, data, multimedia communication, and other services between the center station and the VSAT terminal users (earth stations) within the country, and between VSAT terminal users, by using a satellite transponder and managed and controlled by the VSAT communication system center station. Overview of VSAT VSAT stands for "Very Small Aperture Terminal" and is also known as a "Satellite Communication Earth Station". It is a satcom communication system developed in the mid-1980s. VSAT is widely used in news, weather, civil aviation, civil defence, banking, oil, seismic and military sectors, as well as in remote areas. A typical VSAT network can accommodate 200-500 stations and has various applications such as broadcast, point-to-point, interactive and collection.
