This is a great online resource that students can use to create perfect MLA or APA citations. While it doesn't do ALL the work for students (as they'll still have to find and input the source's author, dates etc.), it will create a perfect citation after they've finished.

This is a great resource for educators as well; you can create a "pin board" of images, videos, websites that are of interest to you. There are certain categories of public "pin boards" - the educators category is GREAT! Although a lot of them are geared towards elementary schools, there are some great ideas for educators at any level.

I am such a fan of Pinterest. I have a board for everything! It is funny how you will start out just exploring the Pinterest site, and before you know it, you find yourself "Pinning" everything you come across on the web! Engaging students in a research project where they can utilize the different Pins provided, or having them post representative images for a visual literacy activity are just two of the many ways to use Pinterest with students.

This site has free online books for different age levels. It also has a lot of good non-fiction books as well. The cool thing is you can let your kids read these for free and the organization donates books to children that do not have any. All you have to do is set up an account and let your children read! It is completely FREE!! The more books people read online, the more they donate to other children. Spread the joy of reading!!

Announcing the 2012 Ig Nobel Prizes! - 0 views

  • The award ceremonies have developed a number of interesting traditions. For example, the prizes are physically presented to the winners by Nobel Laureates and every ceremony since 1996 has premiered its own mini-opera. They are written by Marc Abrahams (editor of the Annals of Improbable Research) and friends, and performed, during the ceremony, by professional opera singers and Nobel Laureates.
  • A video of Miss Sweetie Poo highlights from past Ig ceremonies is available on YouTube.
