Get Smart with Art @ the de Young Written to support the California State Content Standards in language arts, social studies and the visual arts, Get Smart with Art @ the de Young is an interdisciplinary curriculum package that uses art objects as primary documents, sparking investigations into the diverse cultures represented by the Museums' collections. In order to promote implementation, all historical texts are written at the intended grade level, thereby reducing the amount of teacher preparation required. In essence, Get Smart with Art @ the de Young is a readymade curriculum that simply requires the addition of inquisitive students. Using art objects as the foundation for each lesson, the guides develop visual literacy, historical knowledge, artistic expression, and expository writing skills.

The author raised the point that our Holy Prophet (PBUH) had not started his tedious struggle of spreading Islam from Makkah. Another aspect, which the author mentioned was with referencing Islamic historical events with the Quran. The author raised a big question and that how prevalent Islam was during the time of Holy Prophet (PBUH)? Twitter was another medium where this park of anger was ignited. Twitter, Muslim users had a massive reaction towards the author of the program. Muslims condemned Holland at the same time of questioning Islam. 550 complaints were raised and were brought under the notice of Channel 4 and Ofcom. These news of arousal against British programs has become quite common. Another program, that came under immense criticism was "Citizen Khan ", which was again accused of misinterpreting Islam.

The pace of technological change has challenged historical notions of what counts as knowledge. Dave Cormier describes an alternative to the traditional notion of knowledge. In place of the expert-centered pedagogical planning and publishing cycle, Cormier suggests a rhizomatic model of learning. In the rhizomatic model, knowledge is negotiated, and the learning experience is a social as well as a personal knowledge creation process with mutable goals and constantly negotiated premises. The rhizome metaphor, which represents a critical leap in coping with the loss of a canon against which to compare, judge, and value knowledge, may be particularly apt as a model for disciplines on the bleeding edge where the canon is fluid and knowledge is a moving target.

Its purpose - since the site was first launched in 1999 - is to help educators and individuals find original sources, located at national archives, libraries, universities, museums, historical societies and government-created web sites. AwesomeStories is about primary sources. The stories exist as a way to place original materials in context and to hold those links together in an interesting, cohesive way (thereby encouraging people to look at them). It is a totally different kind of web site in that its purpose is to place primary sources at the forefront - not the opinions of a writer. Google just released a major new update to Google Earth that now includes the rumored maps of the ocean floor. Google unveiled this update at an event at the California Academy of Sciences. After installing the latest version of Google Earth, you will be able to explore the ocean floor in the same way you browse the Earth's surface. Besides mapping the oceans, however, Google has also added three more interesting new features to Google Earth: easier access to historical imagery, the ability to record and narrate fly-through tours with the new 'touring' feature, and a 3D map of Mars.
