The Art Project powered by Google features interior tours of seventeen world famous art museums. Select a museum from the list on the homepage & you can virtually tour it using the same interface style you experience in Google Maps Streetview. Inside the museum, just double click to zoom to a location. You can also open a floor plan overview & click on a room to navigate to that part of the museum. The best part of the Art Project powered by Google is the option to create your own artwork collection while visiting each museum. As you're touring a museum click on the "+" symbol on any work of art see it in greater detail, to add it to your collection, & to open background information about that work of art. To create a collection you must be signed into a Google account. This is a great way to start a story or writing prompt, or to explore history & cultures.

The Art of Storytelling website was created by The Delaware Art Museum to allow online visitors to engage with our collections in a unique and creative way. Beyond experiencing our rich variety of art works in the traditional museum setting, this online project - the Art of Storytelling - allows visitors to create their own pictures and stories inspired by works in the museum.

Get Smart with Art @ the de Young Written to support the California State Content Standards in language arts, social studies and the visual arts, Get Smart with Art @ the de Young is an interdisciplinary curriculum package that uses art objects as primary documents, sparking investigations into the diverse cultures represented by the Museums' collections. In order to promote implementation, all historical texts are written at the intended grade level, thereby reducing the amount of teacher preparation required. In essence, Get Smart with Art @ the de Young is a readymade curriculum that simply requires the addition of inquisitive students. Using art objects as the foundation for each lesson, the guides develop visual literacy, historical knowledge, artistic expression, and expository writing skills.

A Short History of smARThistory smARThistory.org is a free multi-media web-book designed as a dynamic enhancement (or even substitute) for the traditional and static art history textbook. Dr. Beth Harris and Dr. Steven Zucker began smARThistory in 2005 by creating a blog featuring free audio guides in the form of podcasts for use in The Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

A Note about Viewing Art with Students

On the MoOM main page you, will find the current exhibitions. The main collection is in the center column, divided into three subsections. On the left you'll find the five current featured exhibitions. The MoOM is updated continuously with major updates coming once each quarter.
