The 10 Commandments, Sabbath days and feast, lambs and oxen, the cleansing of mildew . . . what does this all have to do with the Christian today? Are we merely New Testament people who consult the Old only for Bible trivia purposes?
We must never put our trust in the strength or abilities of men/women. Like David, all believers must "remember the name of the Lord our God" and put our trust in Him.
Just as a loving mother restricts her baby's motion to help it to rest more comfortably, let us allow God to swaddle us with His Word so that we might find true peace. And may God swaddle us with His Will so that we will love and serve our fellowmen, putting their needs ahead of our own.
A Believer becomes new creation at the point of salvation, but that new man does not automatically have control over the old, but still present, sin-nature. Sanctification is the process of putting to death that old sin nature so that Christ can reign in us… a Believer with God's Word incorporated his/her heart is Word-driven and Spiritually centered, free from the power of sin.
"I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord." ~ Philippians 3:8
Spiritual knowledge of Christ will be a personal knowledge. I cannot know Jesus through another person's acquaintance with him. No, I must know him myself; I must know him on my own account.
Yes, it is true that many dangerous diseases can be transmitted through direct or indirect contact. But, while germs may harm the body, sin and sinfulness definitely harm the soul; making us unclean, defiled, before a pure and holy God.,, just as accumulated germs will eventually make our bodies sick, an accumulation of 'sin germs' will eventually make our souls, hearts and minds sin-sick too. We MUST wash them away regularly with God's Word!
The enemy knows our weaknesses, and we need to be aware of them as well, because that is exactly where he will strike time after time… When we fail to use the armor of God we become ineffective soldiers for God…
Today is a gift from the hand of God. What we do and say in it is our gift back to Him. Be enriched in the knowledge of Him and speak your faith to those who will listen.
David confessed his sins to God unreservedly, without excuse, and sought forgiveness. But David didn't stop there. For him, forgiveness was not "enough"…
Meditate a little on this MERCY of the Lord: It is TENDER Mercy; It is GREAT Mercy; It is UNDESERVED Mercy; It is RICH Mercy; It is MANIFOLD Mercy; It is ABOUNDING Mercy; It is UNFAILING Mercy
It is the love we share (by our actions, not just words!) that makes people believe we are sincere. It is how much we sacrifice for each other that opens the door for the gospel message. It is by bearing each other's burdens that we fulfill the Law of Christ.
