Triple J Hack half hour - 0 views

We explore why we post so much personal information in blogs, vlogs and on social networking pages and we'll look at what the repercussions and advantages might be for our relationships and career. Will all this information become part of a permanent record? How can it be accessed and used in the future? We hear from Australia's number one YouTube vlogger Natalie Tran (aka community channel), triple j film critic Marc Fennell, a self proclaimed trash-bag from the Gold Coast and even a sneaky hacker and we explore it all through the eyes of 16 year old Sophie.

Living the Dream - 2 views

Blog Site. I have taught all grade levels from 7-12 in Social Studies and currently teach at the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia, an inquiry-driven, project-based high school focused on modern learning. My practice has deep roots in experiential education, taking students from the classroom to the real world and back again. Before finding my way to Philadelphia, I was an active member of the teaching community in Flagstaff, AZ where I was named Technology Teacher of the Year for Arizona and a member of the Governor's Master Teacher Corps. Recently I was featured on TED.com for the "How to Learn? From Mistakes" talk and recognized for earning National Board Certification. My publications include a featured piece on the New York Times Learning blog, co-authoring a chapter in an educational leadership book, an upcoming article in the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy and regular contributions to teachinghistory.org.
