Narrow Escape - John Russell's 1970 Olds 442 - 0 views

  •
John Russell's Olds is a great daily driver, with bright orange paint and plenty of original 455-cid V-8 power it makes a statement wherever it goes. John was lucky to rescue the Olds from almost certain death inflicted by a previous owner. The former owner decided that the orange paint scheme was not to his liking, so he sprayed it black with a can of paint.

  •
When GM redesigned the platform for the second generation F-body platform in 1970 in preparation for the major restyling of both the Camaro and Firebird, they actually delivered customers a much more capable car. While it wasn't a radical rethinking, the suspension geometry was significantly improved over the original 1967-69 design, creating a more surefooted chassis.
