You really do have to be crazy about trucks to modify an '88 Chevy Silverado to such an extent that most custom vehicles can't even compare. Lucky for us, Mike Smith, aka "Smitty," is the type of guy who has gasoline running through his veins and can't help creating jaw-dropping customs that keep the janitors busy mopping up the puddles of drool we leave behind.

Jon opted for hot rod red on the interior and brought the truck over to Frank Castilleja at Frank's Custom Upholstery, where he took a 1994 C/K bench seat and reshaped it before covering it with Nu Red material from Ultra Leather. Trick door panels were created and covered as well. Chevrolet script from a valve cover molded into the glovebox, the defrost vents and dash pad were shaved and the entire dash was painted Victory Red before Dave Austin applied his pinstriping skills.

Most custom truck owners, when constructing their ground-hugging pride and joy, zero in on a build style and run with it. Once in a while you find an enthusiast who was able to successfully merge a few different styles into one well-balanced custom.

Few can argue that an exhaust system is one of the most sought after components in the hot rodding scene since the early days of dry lakes racing. They say it's hard to say goodbye and that's especially true when it comes to the Sittin' Pretti Summer Slam show held every August in Arlington, Washington. This past year was the show's 20 anniversary, and the club Sittin' Pretti decided that the milestone was the perfect time to go out with a bang since many members have started families.
