Cool animation on the evolution of the Y chromosome, but not really related to genetic engineering. Probably came up because of the 'recombination' events between the X and Y chromosomes.
Here's another Google alert. This article talks about the proteins found in the infected human system that can be beneficial for the development of malarial vaccine.
This was emailed to me thorugh Google Alerts. My search consisted of "malaria vaccine" and this particular article addresses the fact that gorillas contain the malaria-causing parasite, which may advance vaccination research.
For all the youtube ones I started by searching "genetic engineering" and "genetic engineering animation." I also searched "genetic recombination" and didnt find anything. "gene therapy" came up as a related search, so then I searched those words and found this one.
I searched "genetic recombination" on nsdl.org and then did ctrl+F, typed in animation, and looked at all the videos that had "animation" in their description.

1. animated description of partial restriction digestion.
2. Why uncut plasmid give up to three bands in agarose gels.
3. How to interpret DNA gels.
