"DANBURY -- After more than a year of being under contract, the Elks Lodge on Main Street has been sold to a downtown church.
The Elks, who constructed the lodge with arched windows and stained glass around 1930, sold the building to the Revival Church for $1.2 million, according to Jack Knapp, the fraternal order's treasurer."
"ONEIDA - The Oneida Elks Lodge 767 will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of establishing headquarters at 191 Main St. on May 30 from 3-6 p.m. at the lodge.
There will be refreshments served and Back to the Country will perform on the porch.
"We have one of the nicest lodge facilities in the whole Central New York district," said Don Skinner, Elks trustee. "This building is a very historic part of downtown Oneida. I'd hate to ever see it go.""

For the last 3 years, the Wausau Elks Lodge has been building wheelchair accessible ramps for the elderly and people with diabetes.
And with the help from the Elks National Foundation, the Wausau lodge can continue their charitable work.

Elks Club to open restaurant

The Tri-County Elks Lodge is taking on a unique fundraising venture - they're planning to open a restaurant on Corbin's Main Street.
K.R. Deaton, a member of the lodge's board of trustees, said the Elks are interested in opening a restaurant in the club's remodeled building at 207 North Main Street.
SUMMIT -- The local Elks Club is enjoying a resurgence in membership, and Exalted Ruler Mike Williams is fairly sure he knows why.
"It's the charitable works we do," he said, "and the comradeship we have here, both social and charitable." Members of the lodge, headquartered on the second floor of a downtown Maple Street building, abide by four principals: justice, charity, brotherhood and fidelity.
I had never set foot into the Elks lodge in Loveland before covering this assignment. I was struck at how untouched the building seemed to be. Untouched since the early 70s that is. I have noticed over the course of my career how I seem to gravitate to things that are dated.
