The Man with the Palsy | Deeds vs. Declarations: How do you see your brother?... - 0 views

  •
What will we do to help those in need? If the society is in decay, what will you do to stop it? The world grows darker only when our (believers) lights grow dimmer.

License, Loopholes, Legislation and Legitimacy « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

Righteousness is not proven by what you don't do; it is not proven by what laws you don't break. Righteousness IS proven by what you DO!!!

Manger Bed: Free Food for Stall « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Physical food only sustains our temporary bodies for the few years we live here on earth. It takes spiritual food to give us spiritual strength to "walk in the Spirit" (Galatians 5:16, 25) and to fight spiritual battles with spiritual weapons (2 Corinthians 10:4) against spiritual foes (Ephesians 6:12) as citizens of the spiritual Kingdom of Heaven (John 3:5).

Swaddling Clothes: Gift-Wrapped Love « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Just as a loving mother restricts her baby's motion to help it to rest more comfortably, let us allow God to swaddle us with His Word so that we might find true peace. And may God swaddle us with His Will so that we will love and serve our fellowmen, putting their needs ahead of our own.

Tackling Temptation « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
It is crucial for every child of God to realize that satan is always on the prowl to destroy the testimony of Christians by throwing temptations into their path. The devil knows our weaknesses sometimes better than we even do! And, He will keep hitting on those areas of our life to try and make us stumble.

Faith: More than meets the Eye « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Faith is not the ignorance of reality; it is the entrance into a reality that the world cannot begin to see.

It is mercy, God's mercy, that makes Salvation available. Mercy opens the door of Salvation to let us into the Kingdom of God.

Jesus' Return: Responsibility, Righteousness and Reality « Reflections in the... - 0 views

  •
Recently, there was yet another controversy about the time of Jesus' return. Sadly, many people were misled into thinking that May 21, 2011 would be that date and were deeply disappointed and confused when they found out they were misinformed. It is easy, and quite tempting, to be dismissive of these forlorn followers, but empathy and reflection are far better responses.

I Must Work While It Is Day « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
We can't understand how God decides the day of our death. We don't know when our own finish line will come. But we should all live in such a way that when we come to the finish line of our life there will be no unfinished business, no works our Father assigned to us that we've left undone.

The Father's Good Gift « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
As Jesus sent His disciples out into a world that would be hostile to them, that would imprison them and beat them and kill them, what they needed to succeed wasn't a new car, or perfect teeth or a retirement plan. What they needed to live successfully (as God defines it) was The Comforter.

"Germophobia" « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Yes, it is true that many dangerous diseases can be transmitted through direct or indirect contact. But, while germs may harm the body, sin and sinfulness definitely harm the soul; making us unclean, defiled, before a pure and holy God.,, just as accumulated germs will eventually make our bodies sick, an accumulation of 'sin germs' will eventually make our souls, hearts and minds sin-sick too. We MUST wash them away regularly with God's Word!

Heart Search « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

God already knows the state of our thoughts and hearts, but many times we do not. By His "searching" and "testing" it is revealed to us what we are truly like…

Believing is Seeing « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
…in spite of our utter hopelessness to be as good as God intended us to be, His strength and grace and love overshadow every distraction and weakness with a light that will nourish and guide us all of our days if we dare to walk in it. Even when the Enemy has us so shortsighted that we stumble at every step, God's arms are still there: still holding us up…

Nothing but the Blood! « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Some treat the blood of Christ as nothing special, they say it was no different from any other blood, but that is NOT what God says in His Word… Only through faith in the blood of Christ can we be saved…

Righteous Representation « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
There should be no arrogance and pride involved when witnessing for Christ… we are to behave with gentleness and respect in all we say and do towards unbelievers. We should not 'beat the unsaved about the head' with the Word of God, but rather present it with love and caring.

Theistic Evolution, the Image of God and Original Sin - 1 views

  •
It is here, I think, that Biblical theology comes most in conflict with macro-evolutionary ideas. There is such a concept as "Theistic Evolution" which essentially claims that there is no necessary contradiction between Biblical theology and Darwinian-type evolution.

Reading the Bible Chronologically - 4 views

  •
The following is a reading plan that I developed for some newer disciples / followers of Jesus to help them get a good picture of what is going on in Scripture from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. Our English Bibles do not follow a clear chronological order (particularly in the Old Testament), so many people who read the Bible straight through aren't able to, say, summarize the Biblical narrative as a whole. This is a bit of a problem as I believe that a developing healthy understanding of the Bible's story (and my/your place in it) is an essential component of discipleship.
