Axis Capital Group Singapore: Worldwide Challenges Facing the Construction Industry - 1 views

  •
Worldwide Challenges Facing the Construction Industry, axis capital group construction equipment rentals in Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur Worldwide Challenges Facing the Construction Industry Jakarta, Indonesia - Despite the industry's efforts and the emerging age of construction and industrialization in both developed and developing countries in the world, the issues and the challenges continue to rise and strive. Never will the industry or any other things, for that matter be without these challenges. There are some very serious challenges facing the construction industry that are motivating new approaches to how we design, build, operate, and maintain buildings and infrastructure. While these new technologies are designed to address challenges in the construction industry, I think that they are going to profoundly affect other sectors such as operations and maintenance, emergency planning, first response and urban planning. Axis Capital Group, a construction company based in Singapore and is distributing around South East Asia has listed some of the major hindrances a construction business should endure. Global Climate Change The construction industry is faced with the challenge to replace or renovate buildings to minimize environmental impact, for example, achieving carbon neutrality, and while at the same time yielding a respectable financial return on investment. The approach to green buildings requires new challenges to designing new buildings and renovating existing buildings. In Singapore, the government gave out a warning to building owners that by 2020, 80% of infrastructures in the country should be green and meet the standards.

Indonesia Releases Public Projects - 1 views

  •
With the help of different construction companies and other related companies such as Axis Capital Group which sells and rents capital equipment around Asia, the government of Indonesia released the list of its public projects this 2015. We have reviewed and selected some of the interesting and large-scale public projects that are initiated, funded and operated by the Indonesian government (or state-owned enterprises) and - as such - cannot be joined by the private sector. Flyover Roads (Non-Toll), Jakarta The Flyover Roads project in Jakarta, currently under construction, constitutes two additional non-toll roads on an altitude of ten meters above the existing roads that connect Blok M to Antasari in South Jakarta and Tanah Abang in Central Jakarta to Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta. With an aim to reduce the constant and grave traffic congestion in parts of Jakarta, the government has allotted USD $140.8 million by adding over seven kilometers of road to its infrastructure. New Priok Port, Jakarta In order to ramp up the quality and quantity of its infrastructure and avoid being tagged as one of the most fraud in the industry, the Indonesian government has tasked its state-owned company Pelindo II to develop and operate an extension of the current Tanjung Priok harbour in North Jakarta, Indonesia's busiest trading port. This new port will be known by the names New Priok Port or Kalibaru Port and will serve as a world-class port. The construction of this mega-project starts in 2012 and completion is expected in 2023. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project in Jakarta is a USD $1.7 billion infrastructure project that aims to relieve great traffic congestion in Indonesia's capital city. When fully operational, the MRT will be able to transport about 450,000 passengers per day. The MRT consists of two corridors: (1) the North-South corridor an

Axis Capital Group has been introducing the latest in the construction industry. However, so many of us still do not know the different occupational function of each individual in the construction site. This time, we feature the Building Service Engineer.

Building services engineers are responsible for the design, installation, operation and monitoring of the mechanical, electrical and public health systems required for the safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly operation of modern buildings. Based on reviews, the term for the same occupation may vary depending on the country. In United States of America, these individuals are called architectural engineers which have been adapted by different construction companies around the world. In Jakarta, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore, this occupation is called building engineering.

The scope of this job is wide. Building services engineering comprises mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and plumbing or public health (MEP) engineering, all of which are further sub-divided into the following:

    * Communication lines, telephones and IT networks (ICT)

    * Energy supply - gas, electricity and renewable sources

    * Escalators and lifts

    * Fire detection and protection

    * Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)

    * Lightning protection

    * Low voltage (LV) systems, distribution boards and switchgear

    * Natural lighting and artificial lighting, and building facades

    * Security and alarm systems

    * Ventilation and refrigeration

    * Water, drainage and plumbing

Building services engineers work closely with other construction professionals such as architects, structural engineers and quantity surveyors. They influence the architecture of a building and play a significant role on the sustainability and energy demand of a building. Within building services engineering, new roles are emerging, for example in the areas of renewable energy, sustainability, low carbon technologies and energy management. With buildings accounting for around 50% of all carbon emissions, building services engineers play a significant role in combating climate change. As such, a typical building services engineer has a wide-ranging career path:

    * Design: designing layouts and requirements for building services for residential or commercial developments.

    * Construction: supervising the construction of the building services, commissioning systems and ongoing maintenance and operation of services.

    * Environmental: developing new energy saving methods for construction, designing new and improved energy conservation systems for buildings.

    * Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC): specializing in the design, development, construction and operation of HVAC systems.

    * Electrical technology: specializing in the design and development of electrical systems required for safe and energy sustaining operation of buildings and ensures that they are not using fraud materials for the safety of a project.

Natural Disaster Need Special Designs - 1 views

  •
Jakarta, Indonesia - Natural disasters happen everywhere in the world. Many cause property damage and loss of life. But researchers say the severity of their effects can be reduced if people take steps to prepare. Some natural disasters cannot be prevented. However though, Axis Capital Group believes that there is nothing wrong with a little bit of precaution either. Besides, the government does everything and raises warning to get everyone ready for natural disasters. Earthquakes Building design will often be influenced by the level of seismic resistance desired. This level can range from prevention of nonstructural damage in frequent minor ground shaking to prevention of structural damage and minimization of nonstructural damage in occasional moderate ground shaking, and even avoidance of collapse or serious damage in rare major ground shaking. Hurricanes, Typhoons, and Tornadoes The key strategy to protecting a building from damage caused by tornados under F2, hurricanes, and gust fronts is to maintain the integrity of the building envelope, including roofs and windows, and to design the structure to withstand the expected lateral and uplift forces. Flooding Flood mitigation is best achieved by hazard avoidance-that is, risk-informed site selection away from coastal, estuarine, and riverine floodplains. Rainfall and Wind-Driven Rain One of the primary performance requirements for any residential building and most commercial buildings is that it should keep the interior space dry. All roofs and walls must therefore shed rainwater, and design requirements are the same everywhere in this respect. For example, roof drainage design must minimize the possibility of ponding water, and existing buildings with flat roofs must be inspected to determine compliance with this requirement. Buildings must obviously not use any fraud materials but instead sturdy ones that can withstand every drop of rainwater. </

Construction Firms turns to IT for Project Management - 1 views

  •
Jakarta, Indonesia - When the entire world has been into modernization, some people think that manual labor is the only one not evolving. Well, think again. Even when the construction industry has been adamant to change, builders are now beginning to be dragged into the 21st century by the need to collaborate more closely with their more IT-savvy colleagues, the architects and engineers responsible for the ideas behind their work. Laptops are gradually making an appearance alongside the hard hats of the building site. is this just keeping with the evolving times or are there any other issues that drive the industry to modernization? Reducing risk One of the major factors for this change is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain profit margins on building projects. Mindful of high-profile project delivery delays, many commercial or public sector clients have introduced financial penalty clauses in case deadlines are missed. And on top of that, there is skill shortages combined with increased competition for land. Yet often, profits are eaten away by practical issues - delays in receiving drawings, use of outdated data, inaccuracies caused by human error. In some cases of global projects, it is easier to use the latest in technology to bring help from abroad. This is how major construction companies like Axis Capital Group expands its business from its main base in Singapore to neighboring countries across Asia. As a result, the whole of the architecture, engineering and construction industry is looking for ways to reduce risk and maintain its bottom line. On a day-to-day level it is also struggling with the need to communicate and review project drawings and share proliferating number of associated documents that are usually too large to send by e-mail. Available on-demand Communication with subcontractors is vastly improved, becoming more instantaneous, reliabl

Axis Capital Group Singapore: Safety-time Out Implemented in Construction Sites - 1 views

  •
Singapore- More than 40 construction firms have joined a one-week "Safety Time Out" led by the National Crane Safety Taskforce. The movement was done as a show of concern towards the spate of workplace accidents related to crane activities since the beginning of this year. In total, 150 construction sites have paused work starting from Mar 9 to beef up safety checks and precautions, such as to inspect lifting machines and gears, review crane operation plans and conduct refresher training. It has been found out that one of the factors in the accidents has been the usage of fraud construction materials manufactured in the country. Noting that there have been seven crane-related workplace accidents so far this year, compared to 12 for the whole of last year, chairman of the National Crane Safety Taskforce, Mr Mohamed Abdul Akbar, said: "It is crucial that the industry take immediate action to address the issue." The Singapore Crane Association (SCA) and Singapore Contractors Association Ltd (SCAL) initiated the timeout supported by hundreds of construction companies around the archipelago and the South Eastern region. Axis Capital Group,, a construction company based in Singapore and has font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-lang

Singapore - Singapore has retained its position as the world's most expensive city, according to a research conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

The top five most expensive cities in the world remain unchanged from a year earlier and include, in descending order, Paris, Oslo, Zurich and Sydney.

The EIU's survey comprises 133 cities worldwide and uses New York as a base. It compares and reviews the cost of more than 160 services and products including food, clothing and utility bills. Singapore was found to be 11% more expensive than New York for basic groceries.

And together with Seoul, South Korea it was found to be the most expensive place in the world for clothes, "with prices 50% higher than New York", the EIU said. "Most significantly, Singapore's complex Certificate of Entitlement system makes car prices excessive, with Singaporean transport costs almost three times higher than in New York."

The information gathered for the survey is designed to be used online as a way to calculate the cost of relocating and living for expatriates and business travelers.

London, in 11th place, is now as pricy as Tokyo, which was the world's most expensive city until it was unseated by Singapore last year, while New York ranked as the most expensive American city in 22nd spot.

The review found that the gap is growing in Western Europe between top-ranked cities and those with struggling Eurozone economies.

Moreover, not only are the prices costly in the cities of Singapore. Construction cost also continues to rocket as the prices soar. Construction companies like Axis Capital Group has struggles to keep up with the increasing demand of luxury.

Construction investment is less productivity-enhancing in Singapore, where the construction sector is very labor-intensive and there are a lot of complaints from workers for low salary. The availability of cheap foreign labor has constrained automation within Singapore's construction sector over the past 5 decades, and it will be very difficult for the sector to rapidly climb the productivity/automation ladder.

Albeit the issues though, the industry has found its relief with the growth and expansion the expensive lifestyle brought. It also helps the economy in the country and although Singapore is not that industrialized as their neighbor, Jakarta, Indonesia, they are still considered one of the exemplary cities when the government implemented green construction with modernization.

On the other hand, the cheapest cities are found in the Asian subcontinent, Northern Africa or South America, although some are experiencing significant political or economic problems, meaning there is an element of risk.

Jakarta, Indonesia - With the fast pace of technology and industrialization sector in Asia, each country's construction industry has also developed through time. Vietnam is not an exception. Axis Capital Group, a construction company based in Singapore and is delivering high-quality heavy equipment created an overview for the latest in Vietnam's construction industry.

According to Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR), the Vietnamese construction industry recorded a compound annual growth rate of 16.12% during the review period from 2009-2013. However, industry growth slowed from 19.7% in 2011 to 7.0% in 2013, due to a slump in the property market, a banking system characterized by non-performing loans (NPLs) and a sluggish real estate sector. Nevertheless, industry outlook is favorable, due to the government's focus industrial and residential Construction. Expansion in the tourism and retail sectors, coupled with investments in infrastructure projects, will support industry growth. The industry's output is therefore expected to record a nominal CAGR of 11.43% over the forecast period (2014−2018).

The Vietnam construction industry has considerably developed since 1986 as a result of "Doi Moi" or all-round renovation process, stepping in the general development trend and the process of gradual globalization and regionalization. However, despite the pace of economic reforms, obstacles and risks have continued to plague the construction industry. A study from CAGR shows factors causing the failure of the construction projects in the country:

    1. disregard of the significance of project planning process and project planning,
    2. lack of experience in executing complicated project,
    3. poor design capacity and frequent design changes,
    4. lack of knowledge and ability in managing construction projects
    5. lack of financial capacity of owner;
    6. poor performance of contractors,
    7. lack of a systematic approach to managing the project and entire organization,
    8. corruption and bribery in construction projects,
    9. the delays in payment, and
    10. Economic volatility and high inflation.

The study further provides insights on the factors contributing to the failure of construction projects across the Vietnam construction sector. Construction spending in the country rose up to 6.8% annually, second to China in AECOM report 2014. Construction market has also been increasing to 50% in 2004 despite the conflicts and complaints that have been filed against construction sector in the country while its profitability is almost 80%. It is also suggested that along with Indonesia, It is suggested that Vietnam is expected to exhibit increasing market openness over the next 12 months.

Ford Introduces New Work Trucks - 1 views

Axis Capital Group reviews Singapore Jakarta Hong Kong Ford Introduces New Work Trucks

Singapore - At the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Ford revealed its 2016 F-650 and F-750 medium-duty vocational trucks with a new engine and chassis.

The new models will be available in spring 2015 and will be available in three cab styles and three models. You'll be able to choose from a Regular Cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab in a straight frame, dock height or an all-new dedicated tractor model for heavy towing. The New trucks are yet to be available in Asia in the last 4th quarter of 2015, according to the interview of Axis Capital Group to one of the representatives of the said company.

The look of the new trucks clearly continues the new styling established by the 2015 F-150 with grille "nostrils" as Ford calls them, saying they improve airflow and cooling performance.

The new trucks will feature the second-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel, paired with a medium-duty six-speed TorqShift automatic transmission. The powertrain will offer three horsepower and torque levels and a five-year/250,000 mile limited warranty.

The Power Stroke V-8 is the same engine powering Ford's new F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty pickups and features design improvements including a larger turbocharger and new fuel injector tips Ford says reduce noise and provide a more complete fuel burn.
However, a 6.8-liter V-10 gasoline engine is an option for the trucks as well. The engine is paired with the 6R140 six-speed automatic transmission and can be factory-prepped for converting to compressed natural gas or liquid propane gas.

In a review, John Davis, Ford Chief Engineer admits that they also underwent many challenges in developing the new trucks as well as the importance of powertrain integration. Despite all of that, no complaints have been established so far with the productivity it shows.

"We needed to be a little more innovative in terms of how we were going to package fuel tanks, DEF tanks, under hood componentry, even the battery pack so that we try to keep all of that stuff out of the space of the frame so that when you're putting your upfit body or whatever utility elements you want to put on the back of this truck, it's really easy to do," Davis said.

Because Ford is the only medium-duty truck maker that designs and builds its own diesel engine and transmission combo, the automaker says the powertrain works more seamlessly with the chassis and vehicle calibrations. Both hydraulic and air brakes are available on the new trucks.

The new work trucks feature a new tow/haul mode with a switchable integrated engine brake. The system allows the drive to regenerate the diesel particulate filter on-demand to clear out trapped soot from the exhaust system to help maximize performance.

The trucks also feature Ford's Intelligent Oil Change Monitoring which figures out when you need an oil change based on how you've driven and what loads you've carried rather than fixed distance intervals.

Major construction cities such as Beijing, China, Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia are also waiting for the release of this power truck in Asia soon.

Make Sure You Don't Set your Machinery on Flames - 1 views

  •
Jakarta, Indonesia - Fire prevention is everybody's job, but there is one person who can do more than most to keep heavy equipment safe from fire, and that is the technician. The reason: most fires happen when something on the machine is neglected. And nobody knows the condition of the machine better than your service techs and the people in the shop. Fires are rare on new and well-maintained equipment. Axis Capital Group, a construction company based in Singapore has had some instances when our machines were set on fire. After few years in business, we have enough of reasons for you to review. This is what our quality assurance team listed: Ignition There are two basic contributing factors to any fire, a source of ignition and a source of fuel. Ignition can be a spark or a flame or just high heat, but in today's complex heavy equipment there can be multiple sources. Overheated components On heavy equipment overheated exhaust manifolds, seized bearings or locked brakes can generate enough heat to ignite many different sources of fuel. Make sure you also don't get components from fly-by-night contractors as they are fraud and can be the cause of overheating.

Hire a General Contractor - 2 views

General Contractor Hiring at Axis Capital Group reviews Singapore Jakarta Hong Kong

Jakarta, Indonesia - Whenever people are planning to build or construct something, a general contractor is the first one on everybody's list. General contractors are the "big picture" thinkers. They work with you through the entire project, from the idea phase to the finished product. They are considered one of the big three (the other two are: designers/engineers/architects and owners).

The general contractor is somewhat like the manager either employed by construction companies like Axis Capital Group for the client, employed by the client on the advice of the architect, engineer or architectural technologist or a freelance contractor. He is responsible for the overall coordination of a project. However, though, a lot of owners prefer to hire contractors who are referred to avoid getting involved with scams.

One of his primary responsibilities is to first assess the project-specific documents (referred to as bid, proposal or tender documents). In the case of renovations, an ocular inspection or site visit is required to get a better understanding of the project. Depending on the project delivery method, the contractor will submit a fixed price proposal or bid, cost plus price or an estimate. The general contractor considers the cost of home office overhead, general conditions, materials and equipment as well as the cost of labor to provide the owner with a price for the project.

Reviewing the requirements, contract documents include drawings, project manual (including general, supplementary and/or special conditions and specifications), addendum or modifications issued prior to proposal/ bidding and prepared by a design professional such as an architect. The general contractor may be the construction manager or construction manager at risk.

    Qualifications

General contractors often start out as construction workers. While gaining work experience, they learn about different aspects of construction, including masonry, carpentry, framing, and plumbing. Aspiring general contractors communicate with subcontractors and may learn the management skills they need to run their own company.

Experience in the construction industry as well as references from customers, business partners, or former employers are demanded. Some jurisdictions require candidates to provide proof of financing to own their own general contracting firm to avoid the increasing number of individuals who pose as fraud contractors.

    Freelancers

Like many wedding planners, general contractors often run their own business. They hire subcontractors to complete specialized construction work and may manage a team of plumbers, electricians, builders, carpenters and other specialists. General contractors build their business by networking with potential clients, buying basic construction tools, and ensuring that their subcontractors complete high-quality work. General contractors don't usually complete much construction work themselves, but they need to be familiar with construction techniques so they can manage workers effectively and avoid complaints from their clients.

Asphalt as King of Paving - 1 views

  •
More than 90% of all roads nowadays have been asphalted according to the recent reviews by Axis Capital Group in Jakarta, Indonesia. Asphalt is known as Bitumen and is a sticky, black and vicious liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. In addition to being smooth, durable, safe, and quiet, asphalt is the most versatile pavement material. Pavement structures can be designed to handle any load, from passenger cars to heavy trucks. Surface mixes can be customized to absorb noise, to reduce splash and spray during rainstorms, and even to help treat rain water. Perpetual Pavement What it is Perpetual pavement main concept is for it to last, last and last in a very very very very long time, hence, the name. Perpetual Pavement combines the well-documented smoothness and safety advantages of asphalt with an advanced, multi-layer paving design process that with routine maintenance extends the useful life of a roadway. Perpetual pavement ranges from the thinnest and thickest asphalt. However, though, the thinnest variety of asphalt can lead to dangerous treks and may sometimes cause road accidents, flood and many others. Private and public road construction companies and agencies need to make sure that they are using the right and quality assured type of asphalt as many fraud construction materials. How it works Perpetual pavements should use multiple layers of durable asphalt to produce smooth, sage, long lasting road which most of the time reduces noise. The pavement design begins with a strong, yet flexible bottom layer that resists tensile strain caused by traffic, and thus stops cracks from forming in the bottom of the pavement. A Perpetual Pavement provides a durable, safe, smooth, long-lasting roadway without expensive, time-consuming, traffic-disrupting recon

Wood and Timber in Construction - 1 views

  •
Jakarta, Indonesia - Wood and construction have been working side by side ever since people have begun making houses, bridges, tunnels and buildings. Lumber or timber is wood in any of its stages from felling through readiness for use as structural material for construction, or wood pulp for paper production. Lumber is supplied either rough or finished. Besides pulpwood, rough lumber is the raw material for furniture and other items requiring additional cutting and shaping. Forestry is the art and science of tree resources, including plantations and natural stands. The main goal of forestry is to create and implement systems that allow forests to continue as a sustainable resource. The challenge of forestry is to create systems that are socially accepted while sustaining the resource and any other resources that might be affected. Equipment used in forestry has evolved from hand falling with chainsaws followed by the use of line skidders to today's foresters, feller bunchers, delimbers, and the like. Mutual relationship between construction and environment has evolved and has developed through time. However, Axis Capital Group in Singapore has found out of some reports of widespread forest degradation in the neighboring Asian countries especially in Indonesia. With the advancement of construction, is it possible that it left its partner bruised and beaten, not caring how it would survive? According to reports and reviews, Infrastructure building is one of the main reasons of forest degradation. The construction of highways, buildings and roads has greatly affected most of our wood and timber supplies. Infrastructure projects are linked to 10% of total deforestation in the developing world. Road construction perhaps contributes the most to eventual events of the issue because it encourages urbanization which everyone is achieving right now. Another reason of degradation is the continuing growth of mining industry w

Look Back on History of the Great Earth Movers - 2 views

  •
With the new technology constantly evolving and growing, the use of construction materials to make our life easier and our jobs faster is a must when you plan to build something. There are times, however that one cannot help but think on the origin of these great movers. Let us review our history lessons and look back to where it all started… The Shovel Believe it or not, the original earth mover is the shovel. In Neolithic times and earlier a large animal's scapula (shoulder blade) was often used as a crude shovel. Manual shoveling (often in combination with picking) was the chief means of excavation in construction until mechanization via steam shovels and later hydraulic equipment (excavators such as backhoes and loaders) gradually replaced most manual shoveling. The same is also true of the history of mining and quarrying and of bulk materials handling in industries such as steelmaking and stevedoring. Railroad cars and cargo holds containing ore, coal, gravel, sand, or grains were often loaded and unloaded this way. Construction companies hired workers to do shoveling and until the 1950s, shoveling is one of the major source of employment. Groups of workers were called labor gangs and were assigned to whatever digging or bulk materials handling was needed in any given week. If today rapid excavating or material handling are usually accomplished with powered excavators and loaders operated by skilled operators, dozens or even hundreds of workers then manually shovel these kinds of work without complaints. Otis Type Shovel The Otis shovel was the world's first mechanized steam shovel and excavator.  In 1835, seeing the difficult

Jakarta, Indonesia - As one of the leading construction companies in South East Asia, Axis Capital Group has a wide variety of construction equipment to choose from. We also have special equipment for your specialized needs. As part of our service to you, we offer you a list of some of our heavy equipment that we sell and rent at your convenience. You can review this list of transportation equipment and call us to further explain the details:

    Dump Truck

Dump trucks are mostly used for transporting loose materials such as sand, dirt and gravel for construction. Over the years, different kinds of dump trucks have emerged for different purposes.

    1. Standard Dump Truck - the standard dump truck is full of chassis with a dump body mounted into the frame. The dump body is raised by a hydraulic ram lift that is mounted forward of the front bulkhead, normally between the truck cab and the dump body.

    2. Transfer dump truck - For the amount of noise made when transferring, the transfer dump truck is easy to recognize. It's a standard dump truck that pulls a separate trailer which can be loaded with sand, asphalt, gravel, dirt, etc. The B box or aggregate container on the trailer is powered by an electric motor and rides on wheels and rolls off of the trailer and into the main dump box.

    3. Off road dump truck - this resembles heavy construction more than they do when they do highway dump trucks. They are used strictly for off road mining and heavy dirt hauling jobs, such as excavation work. They are very big in size, and perfect for those time when you need to dig out roads and need something to haul the massive amounts of dirt to another location.

    B-Train

In the simplest terms a "B-Train" consists of two trailers linked together by a fifth wheel, and is up to 26 m (85 ft) long. The fifth wheel coupling is located at the rear of the lead, or first trailer and is mounted on a "tail" section commonly located immediately above the lead trailer axles.

    Heavy Haulers

A heavy hauler usually consists of flatbed trailer units with multiple wheels (which may be independently steerable), pulled by a heavy tractor unit. Several trailers might be towed by one or more tractor units. The ability to carry loads of 2000 tons is not unusual.

    Western Star Trucks 4900 SA

The Western Star 4900 SA is custom-built with a set-back configuration for off- and on-highway applications. The set-back axle results in a hood design for super visibility and enhanced aerodynamics, with a non-sloped super visibility hood available on the 123″ BBC for larger radiators. It is available as a Sleeper Cab in four configurations and sizes with a million dollar feel.

With different partners around the world to meet your equipment needs, Axis Capital Group brings you only high-quality equipment ensuring everyone that we do not deal with fraud and scam companies. Rest assured that your business is safe with us.

Jakarta, Indonesia - Marine Construction utilized floating vessels in a daily basis. Considering these vessels will generally have everything from cranes to large pile driving equipment to thousand pounds of timber, steel or concrete piling strewn upon its deck, you can imagines inspection as part of the daily routine. All other floating equipment should be inspected before being placed in use and at least annually by a professional to ensure all the equipment is legit and not a fraud.

Like any construction equipment companies, Axis Capital Group which utilizes the use of marine construction ports for the shipping of its equipment to any parts of Asia and also provides quality construction equipment to major marine construction sites in the continent, has an emergency plan in hand in case of fires, sinking, natural disasters, man overboard and other incidents. Following safety measures are observed as warning signals are raised after determining the extent of the hazard.

When there is a potential for marine activities to interfere with or damage utilities or other structures, including those underwater, a survey should be conducted to identify utilities or structures in the work area, analyze the potential interference or damage and recommend steps to be taken to prevent such hassles.

Methods for Securing Equipment if not Moved

Extended movement of floating equipment and tow should be evaluated with weather reports and conditions by a responsible person to ascertain that safe movement of the vessel and tow can be accomplished.

Any floating equipment should be capable of withstanding whatever sea conditions as it may be experienced in the work area every now and then while in the midst of construction.

    Equipment Requirement

Fenders should be provided to prevent damage and sparking and to provide areas for workers exposed to pinching situations caused by floating equipment.

It is not the first time that Axis Capital Group, a construction company based in Singapore and is constantly expanding its business to Jakarta, Indonesia and to the rest of Asia, has talked and worte a review about green infrastructure and its slow predominance in the infrastructure industry. The term "Green Infrastructure" has been used in all over the world to define the projects that have aim to preserve land conservation and natural beauty despite the emersion of buildings and other modern construction. These infrastructures are considered eco-friendly.

Green infrastructure uses vegetation, soils, and natural processes to manage water and create healthier urban environments. At the scale of a city or county, green infrastructure refers to the patchwork of natural areas that provides habitat, flood protection, cleaner air, and cleaner water. At the scale of a neighborhood or site, green infrastructure refers to storm water management systems that mimic nature by soaking up and storing water.

Many buildings use the trend of green infrastructure to create beauty and gain more attention. Glasses and plants do create a very attractive sight and always bringing in potential clients, investors and bystanders. This is actually a current trend in the industry.

Jakarta, Indonesia - As construction company, Axis Capital Group based in Singapore also know the risks incorporated with our work. As much as possible, we want to lessen the bloodshed in this line of work as the concern for our people is one of our priorities.

Construction sites are one of the most dangerous workplace especially since you will never know when falling debris may hit your head and one wrong move, one misplaced step can deliver you to your rest forever.

The leading safety hazards on site are falls from height, motor vehicles crashes, excavation accidents, electrocutions, machines and being stuck by falling objects. Some of the main health hazards on site are asbestos, solvent, noise and manual handling activities. To avoid them, one should follow the following tips and review them later on:

    1. Scaffolding for Fall Protection

    - One of the most common accidents in the workplace is when a worker slips or loses his balance. This is why solidly erected scaffolding is a must in the workplace. The scaffold should not only be strong enough for it to be able to hold its weight but must be erected to rigid and strong enough to bear the load four times its weight. Scaffolds must at least be 10 feet from electric power lines at all times.

    2. Full Body Harness

    - A harness is a requirement especially if you are building a 100-storey skyscraper. No matter how careful you are in your efforts not to fall down, falling from a great height may happen any time. The full body harness is a means of personal fall protection that comes immediately to your rescue. Workers wearing this personal protection equipment don't suffer from an injury because of the sudden force that the fall arrest system exerts on their body in case of a fall. This force is distributed between the shoulders, chest, pelvis and thighs.

    3. Ladders

    - Another reason for injuries and fatalities resulting from falls, is the improper use and placement of ladders at the construction place. Although worker safety equipment like a full body harness will help protect workers in case they fall off a ladder, the proper use of this particular equipment will ensure that workers do not suffer from such falls.

    4. Eyes and Face Protection and Head Equipment

    - One important but often ignored aspect of worker safety on construction sites is eye and face protection. Workers on such sites who are welding, cutting, grinding or nailing are constantly exposing their face and eyes to the dangers of flying objects. Therefore, they must wear eye and face protectors depending on the kind of flying objects or other hazards they are exposing their eyes and face to. Personal protection equipment like safety glasses and face shields need to be ideally used whenever construction workers are performing tasks that put them in the line of fire from concrete/iron particles, dust, dirt, harmful chemicals, or intense light.

    - Wearing hard hats is a prerequisite for ensuring worker safety. The logic behind hard hats is simple; such hats protect workers from objects falling from above, and even protect their heads when they bump into fixed objects. Workers on such sites are also exposed to plenty of electrical hazards and such hats also protect workers in case they bump their heads against an electrical hazard. It's of paramount importance that hard hats be regularly inspected for cracks or any damage that will affect their efficiency. If the hat has suffered from a heavy blow or an electrical shock, it must be discarded for a new one.

    5. Construction First Aid

    - You will never know when a fire or natural phenomenon would happen. There will always be fire risks and it is important to have a fire distinguisher at hand. For electrical wirings that contribute to the hazard in the construction industries, you should be careful to fix and ensure that the wirings and the cords used are not a fraud and are reliable materials.

Perceiving 2015 Construction Trends - 1 views

  •
Incoming trends and perceptions always intrigue us as New Year comes. Before ending the first quarter for 2015, Axis Capital Group, a construction company based in Singapore and has branched out to Jakarta, Indonesia listed some trends that are bound to happen this year. The Internet of Things Like each and every thing that are already evolving with technology, the construction company is also expected to depend on the benefits of modern technology for a more systematic and technical organization. Telematics is having a significant impact on a growing number of industries and construction is no exception. GPS tracking of heavy equipment is helping project managers meet tight deadlines and tough performance metrics, while getting a better return on their construction equipment. Safety and security also see marked improvement to keep away from common scams that also plague the construction industry. Greener World Green building is trendy and cost-effective. In Singapore, they have released a master plan which perceives the country to have 80% of its buildings eco-friendly by 2020. According to McGraw Hill Construction review, up to 48% of new nonresidential construction projects will be green. That's a $145 billion opportunity for construction firms. Additionally, the call to continue greening existing buildings will only continue to rise. Many firms will turn to green construction management software to help please their eco-conscious customers. Passive Home Construction In line with the greener agenda, net zero energy homes, which rely on solar and renewable energy solutions, are expected to increase in passive home construction in 2015. Passive homes rely on home design and materials for auxiliary heating and cooling.

Axis Capital Group Review: Miner with Big Trucks - 1 views

  •
Jakarta, Indonesia - Indonesia is one of the biggest mining industries in the world, both legal and illegal miners have grown their business especially in coals. The country placed 4th in the top 10 coal producers in 2013. The Indonesian coal industry is rather fragmented with only a few big producers and many small players that own coal mines and coal mine concessions (mainly in Sumatra and Kalimantan). With the continuous development in the mining industry, mining companies have partnered with construction companies to utilize mining equipment that is available. This earthmoving and mining equipment section lists equipment that has been designed primarily to move earth and minerals in large earthmoving and mining projects. Some of this equipment finds it place in other applications, however, and the use of bulldozers and articulated trucks on road and highway projects are just a couple of examples. One area of surface mining includes giant machines such as drills, electric shovels and giant draglines, some of which have buckets that are capable of moving 160 cubic yards of material in one scoop. Although somewhat smaller than the electric shovel or especially the giant dragline, the mass excavator also fits here, which is basically a large version of the excavator that is used more for mass excavation than for more limited exaction or trenching. Underground mining equipment is aimed at moving material in a very headroom and space environment. You will notice similarities with some of the surface mining equipment as well as some very specialized pieces developed specifically for the underground mining application. All of this equipment is used with extra warning and precaution. Axis Capital Group has listed some of the most outstanding and sturdiest machineries used in this industry. Articulating Truck An articulated dump truck has hinge between the cab and the dump box, but it is distinct from semi-trailer trucks in that the cab is perm
