Australian Curriculum Civics and Citizenship

These activities both complement and extend the teaching and learning activities in the Discovering Democracy resources. The teaching and learning activities for civics and citizenship education are organised by year levels from lower primary to upper secondary. The activities have been aligned to the Australian Curriculum for History and English learning areas and the General capabilities and Cross-curriculum priorities. There are also links to online interactives from external sources.

The digital resources include learning objects and interactives, film excerpts and images that represent a certain historical period or issue. They are structured around two themes - identity and participation - and ordered by level of schooling. Each resource includes a learning statement, which provides a description of the resource, connections to civics and citizenship education and ideas for classroom use.
