Kleinspiration: Tons of Classroom Examples Using Augmented Reality with @Aurasma - A Co... - 0 views

  • As with most technology, I start using it at home with my own two children.  I began using Aurasma to help Jacob with his reading.  Though he is not yet a fluent reader, I did want to build his confidence.  He lights up when he feels more independent with texts.  So, I made brief videos previewing the sight words in his books.  Then, I applied those videos on top of trigger images, the book covers.  Now, when Jacob gets a book, he holds the iPhone above the book, and my video starts playing.  He watches this and gets to see the words while I say them aloud.  I pause during the video for an "I Say - You Say" segment.  He actually says the words right along with the video.  It's so cute.
  •   As I was reading a book to my students, I found that I would stop and discuss certain parts in a more meaningful manner.  I would also elaborate on other concepts that would enhance the lesson.

What Have We Learned Lately? - 0 views

  •
Accessing and Using the Knowledge Base For the past 12 years I have conducted an annual review of the special education technology literature. This work involves scanning the contents of 31 journals and capturing each article that I think is relevant to the work of special education technology professionals. After reading, analyzing, and indexing each article, I prepare an analysis of this one-year profile of the knowledge base. The purpose of this work is to answer the question, "What have we learned lately?" by Dave L. Edyburn, Ph.D.

Form for start of year staff acknowledge they know about AT Importance of documentation Permissions for software list with Raymond. Unmanaged computer list hough you were extremely timely with your request ticket, Vicky's recommendation for next year was to create a ticket again, but to do it later in the summer. - Specifically, she thought that if you could work with your group as they come back on contract (2-3 weeks before school starts), you would be able to get even more accurate information from them at that time. Additionally, once the ticket is created, you or I should email her directly to let her know it's ready so it can be given immediate priority (vs. having a ticket out there during the summer that can't be handled until after reimaging is done). The ticket would need the same information I believe you provided this year: T #, Room #, Campus, and What to load. She would then like to work on the batch all at once over a day or two and let you know when it's done.

PhotoPin is new search engine for Creative Commons images. It has a very nice interface, and I especially like it because you not only get the photos, but it also gives you the exact attribution to copy and paste. Larry Ferlazzo

180 Technology Tips - HOME PAGE - 0 views

180 Technology Tips is a great resource for educators. It sends out an email everyday with a 5 minute lesson on some aspect of technology. You just sign up using your email address and it does the rest. Topics include better web searching, Microsoft Word and Excel tips, email, toolbars, cellphones, and more. The site also has past lessons archived for you to look at. I found the lessons easy to follow and understand and recommend this to all teachers.
