We believe playing a stringed instrument can change a life. Founded in 1946, the American String Teachers Association exists to support string and orchestra teachers and players. Our members range from budding student teachers to artist-status performers. We provide teaching resources, a career center, professional education, insurance programs, local and national events, and access to a vibrant and sharing strings community.
"Performing Arts Programs in the Appoquinimink School District are strong in numbers and quality. Musical opportunities include Choral Ensembles, Band and Orchestra. In the youngest grades, K-5, every student attends general music classes as part of their Related Arts rotation. All students are introduced to the joy of singing, playing of pre-band instruments, and musical notation.

"It just takes one to start.
And by doing the right thing, others will follow and as a team, together we can impact our communities and build a better future for our children.
