This is a New Jersey site which contains a number of online courses, mainly math and science, which use SMART interactive whiteboards.

Site contains a Software Reviews Database, articles from Technology & Learning Magazine, articles from Educators in Educators' eZine, Event and Contest listings, Reader suggested Web sites, and weekly news updates on education technology leaders.

By the time you check this out, Google will have "Buzz" online. This is Twitter's competition. Google's search engine, "Chrome", has taken some business from from Internet Explorer and Firefox. I think a similar thing will happen with "Buzz" because it is right at hand. I am checking it out today even though twittering as a mode of online communication does not appeal to me.

Ever since I saw the whiteboard demonstrated well by our technology person, I wanted access to one. The kids love it. This may be an alternative.

Portaportal is a web based bookmarking utility that lets you store links to your favorite websites online. Now your bookmarks are no longer limited to any one machine.

Hello Robin, I like almost all your suggestions, but not this one. I found the Quick Start Window a bit clunky. Also, having to add a Name and Web Address for each new site seemed cumbersome. I really like having the Diigo Bookmark on my Toolbar. I might have pursued Porta Portal further if it had imported all my bookmarks from delicious, Diigo, Firefox Bookmarks and IE Bookmarks - with existing folders and categories - but these are comments I should make to them. In any case, keep your suggestions coming!

Hi Theodore, Yes, it does take an extra step. However, when I am at school and I don't have all my favorites in front of me or on my tool bar, it is a quick easy way to find them. Also, the kids can be at their friend's house and want to show them a site and instead of possibly going to dangerous territory they have the exact link in their portaportal. I see your point, too, though. Thanks for commenting. Robin

You can have daily e-mails come to you if you wish that will give you the latest news from the Vatican.

I have this on my home page when I open by internet. It Catholic news and can take you to various Cathoic Sites.

Verizon sponsored a contest with netbook winners in our Catholic Schools. Even more important is that Verizon Foundation supports student scholarships.
