Digital Storyteller is a Web-based tool that offers teachers and students frictionless access to digital images and materials that enable them to construct compelling personal narratives.
To get a better selection of books, it's best to add a Lexile measure as well as the Range. You can get a Range by using Current Grade and then clicking on one of the three buttons: difficult, just right, easy. Then pick a number within the range, lower to higher, depending on the student, group, or class
LiveBinders - looks like a good addition to Diigo Free. For over 13 years of age - perhaps a great tool for students and for creating a common place for integrated learning projects
A Site worth looking at for Elementary, Special Education, and ELL students. Some of the tools might be a bit pricey. Look at the Blog and seriously think about an RSS feed. The links to resources are awesome.
Clickable Map Quizzes - just click on the map to answer the questions. Great georgraphy practice for students in elementary school, middle school, high school, colleges and universities.

Thousands of Free Lesson Plans and Educational Resources for Teachers ...Thinkfinity is here to help outside the classroom, too... This new Afterschool section provides you with information to help students outside of the classroom.
Trish and all,
Thinfinity is the primary site we used this summer in the Internet Safety Course. Thinkfinity is a gift from Verizon. Verizon sponsored a contest with netbook winners in our Catholic Schools. Even more important is that Verizon Foundation supports student scholarships. Our local group of Verizon Pioneers gets credit for everyone who links to Thinkfinity through this address: http://www.thinkfinity.org/home.aspx?source=pioneers
It is the same as the one you shared but it tracks useage for pioneer credits. Hope lots of folks will add this to school favorites.

This tool removes all "distractions" from a web page for easier reading - and printing. It's something I would always have available as an option, for a wide range of students and adults.
PECS is a library of images which can be used for a variety of purposes - especially for non or early readers. This is not a library of free images. There are a few samples, but they are merely that. Talk to a Speech & Language person for more information.
Stevens Institute of Technology Online Project - Environment - identify lifeforms, create database, and share information, with other students elsewhere.
Free Online Timeline Maker - Play with it and see if it works for you. I'm interested in using Timelines with Fiction and Non-fiction books, i.e., another way for a student to organize sequenced information.
