Obamacare Personal Information Leaked - 0 views

  •
Isn't this lovely? In California, some folks in California who signed up for Obamacare got their personal information (name, phone #, etc.) shared with insurance agents and people like that WITHOUT their consent... Isn't this a breach of privacy? Let's hear what y'all think!
  •
This whole Obamacare crap Is driving me even more insane. When will It finally end!?

The minimum wage shouldn't be raised because giving everyone more money is the same as not giving anyone anything.

  •
I think it should be raised, People are working to hard for too little money.
  •
i like that the minimum wage is being brought up
  •
I don't know if moving Minimum Wage up is a good idea because than the prices of everything will go up. But if they keep moving the Wage up and things stay the same price than thats a good idea.
  •
If we increase the minimum wage then the cost of living will go up, taxes, and businesses will be able to increase their prices.
  •
There's pros and cons to moving minimum wage up. The cost of living, taxes, and products will go up, because they have to pay people more to make the goods or provide the services. It's a tricky situation, but it really wont change much.
  •
Probably not a good idea because then businesses would be able to increase the price on almost everything. But if everything stays the way it is and nothing but the minimum wage goes up it would be fine.
  •
It's not worth It..because everything else will go up to match the new wages..so it would be as if nothing happened.
  •
Isn't this borderline inflation? More money given making the value go down and (as the dude above me) everyone else will raise the wages of everything else?

Father's lesson is deadly for 19-year-old son Tyler Comstock as he is shot and killed b... - 4 views

  •
This is absolutely crazy! This is a perfect example of police crossing the line of authority. He was killed because he wouldn't shut off the truck. His dad was trying to teach him a lesson, not kill him.
  • ...14 more comments...
  •
I agree with Hayli, I don't understand why they had to shoot at him they could of shot at the tires or somewhere on the truck. so many killings have been happening by miss observations and cops killing innocent people.
  •
This is a total abuse of power. There are so many other ways you could stop a driver. They should have backed off like Ames suggested
  •
Just because you have a right to have a gun and fire if needed, doesn't mean you should every time a person isn't cooperating.
  •
Yet again another case where the police have gone to far. With the government protection will these cases ever stop? Yeah they fire one guy then the next day you hear about it in a different state. Where is the punishment?
  •
I agree with Ladasia it is another example of total abuse of power.
  •
This is a great example of the police abusing there power. Yet there is no consequences for the police that shot a 19 year old that would not turn off his truck engine.
  •
The police should be fined and fired from their jobs! They abused their power.
  •
another example of abuse of there power
  •
To pursue a stolen vehicle and pull them over is one thing but to need your weapons at all when the father is the one who called the police and use that much force is pointless and life wasting as we can see.
  •
They shot at a person who was unarmed and wasn't trying to hurt anybody, yet they chased him down and killed him like a criminal. This doesn't make sense.
  •
I agree with Hayli because all he was doing was teaching a lesson! Not try to kill him!
  •
This is a terribly unfortunate story. But I agree with the decision that the policemen made. The boy was driving recklessly and not cooperating on a college campus. If it had escalated much more they would have been putting the university in danger.
  •
Not the best story I've heard..thoughts and heart goes out to the family..
  •
Where was the escalation, Jackson? They could have smoked him out, they have tassers, there are all sorts of non-lethal things Cops are trained in for this kind of situation. Yet here they with out their guns and mow him down with shots to the head. There was no need for that.
  •
Sad stuff out there. And it kinda hits home considering this took place here in Iowa...
  •
Not that I want to admit it, but last year I got in HUGE trouble because I told my mothers car multiple times without permission. What if they would have wanted to teach me a lesson? Would I get killed just because I had a moment of bad decisions? This makes me think how easily this could have been me.

If the car is "hard to handle" then get rid of it. Why have a car that is hard to handle if it's going to end innocent lives?
  •
Why even make a car that is hard to handle?
  •
A tradegy death, a man loved by millions of fans. My boyfriend was upset when he heard this news. But it'll be interesting to see what they do with the movie with out Paul there next to van. Sympathy goes out to his family.

North Korea's prison camps are wrong. Now with the pictures of the camps and all the witnesses they have and evidence, I would think that would be enough for the United Nations to do something about it.

(CNN) -- A former Massachusetts crime lab chemist accused of mishandling evidence affecting hundreds, and perhaps thousands, of criminal cases was sentenced Friday to three to five years in prison after pleading guilty to 27 counts.

She should get longer in my opinion. She messed with evidence and hid things probably to her benefit.

Great article. The amount of $$$ spent to get our politicians into office is spiraling out of control. SuperPACs and "dark money" sources make it impossible to see who the candidates are getting financial support from.

Where is the world's most corrupt nation? - CNN.com - 0 views

Interesting way to rank the countries. I could see those 3 nations as the "most corrupt." Then again, there's probably stuff going on behind the curtain in other nations that we don't know about. Wouldn't surprise me :P

New York troopers given big SUVs to peer in on texting drivers - 1 views

  •
Even for a state trooper, it's not easy to spot drivers who are texting. Their smartphones are down on their laps, not at their ears. And they're probably not moving their lips.
  • ...8 more comments...
  •
I think that the SUV's will be good for catching drivers texting. If the word gets around there will probably be less accidents and less desire to text while driving.
  •
I think this is more of a scare tactic. People seeing those big SUVs will stop texting knowing that they are looking for texters.
  •
i think that suvs will be a good thing to stop drivers that are texting
  •
I think the drivers will still text, because there can't be cops everywhere watching for it. Especially if there are more serious problems going on.
  •
    The SUV could be helpful
  •
Good idea, but I think they should have used a different method than just buying SUVs for all New York Troopers
  •
I think drivers are still going to text while driving because they don't care. You can't have cop everywhere because one, there isn't enough and second because there is more important thing then set at every street.
  •
I don't think it matters because texting is a second offense. Which means that a trooper cannot pull you over just because you are texting. You have to commit a first offense and get pulled over to be charged for the second offense.
  •
I agree with little Miss McKenzie on this one!(: Teenagers will be teenagers..until something happens to them or to someone they know..they won't change.
  •
It depends on which state you are in, if its a second offense or not. In some states such as New York its a first offense.

Obamacare Website Fixed? - 0 views

  •
They say the Obamacare website is now free of bugs that have been plaguing it since the beginning of the site. Some critics still say there are plenty of bugs; but only time will tell to see how fixed this site really is...
  •
I don't believe they've really fixed it, but if they don't get it set up soon, people will have to start paying large fines for the care that they may or may not need at the fault of the government.

Iowa Lawmaker Still Seeking Medical Marijuana Law - 2 views

  •
"Legalizing medical marijuana will again be debated in the upcoming legislative session, though Iowa lawmakers have so far been loath to embrace a policy that is finding acceptance elsewhere."
  • ...3 more comments...
  •
I don't think this will happen..
  •
If it's gonna happen then their should be strict "laws" to follow for it. Although it probably wont happen.
  •
I think that if it does not happen now it is inevitable for the legalization of marijuana. The government has noticed that when it was illegal the money made a year in the "business" is in the billions. The government does not want to miss out on that much money to conclude.
  •
I think they should go for it, just because it eases some symptoms for some diseases and that's good for the people suffering from those disease. So why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  •
I think it would be better for the government to legalize marijuana because we have spent millions trying to stop the distribution of the drug with nothing to show for it. The government should legalize it so instead of wasting money trying to stop it we can make money, or spend the money on more pressing matters.
