Boat sinking in the Mississippi River is discharging oil - 0 views

  •
(CNN) -- A vessel carrying about 100,000 gallons of petroleum products struck a submerged object and was sinking in the Mississippi River on Monday night. Officials closed a section of the river near LeClaire, Iowa, to deal with the oil that was discharging from the towboat, the Coast Guard said.
  •
This shouldn't even be a problem. They should move faster to get the boat out before the oil destroys more ecosystems.

What is the point of doing that? You're hitting a person that did nothing wrong!
  •
i dont get the point of that game
  •
I don't understand what is the appeal of being hit so hard you become unconscious. its extremely dangerous what if you fall and snap your neck or crack your head open and start choking on your own blood because you cant roll over.
  •
I wonder who was twisted enough to invent this, and better yet, who was dumb enough to start spreading it around. When did it become okay to walk up to your buddies and be like 'I dare you to knock that guy cold' and even worse, for them to actually do it?
  •
This is the most pointless and idiotic "game". This type of thing can be very dangerous and whoever participates in it deserves to be punished severely.

Michelle Obama's School Lunches Starve Kids - 0 views

  •
RUSH: Okay. We had this as our Morning Update today, but in case you missed it. "School officials in Carmel Clay, Ind., said they lost $300,000 last school year because students are rejecting the healthy menu changes brought on by First Lady Michelle Obama's federal lunch regulations.

The idea of "healthy lunches" seems alright on paper. But I've actually heard people claim food served in prisons are healthier than some school lunches! Also, they say they're aiming for "healthier choices." If that's the case, why are we getting Nachos every Monday and French Fry Bars on Thursdays? So many mixed emotions about school lunch anymore! Great... Now I'm hungry
  •
In theory, the lunch program is a good idea, because students are getting the nutrients they need. However, if they don't eat it, it doesn't do them any good and just wastes the food and money used to buy it. The blame partially falls to students who refuse to eat the lunch, not only Michelle Obama.
  •
Some of the students that are told to pay for the lunch, can't afford it and refuses to pay for it. Who wants [ay for a meal that they don't like and probably won't benefit them? It's the student choice not the schools.
  •
I think this is a good idea, but we need to figure out how to make lunch affordable and healthy all at the same time.

I agree with this. If the prices for college keep raising then nobody can afford to go to college. All the higher paying jobs require more schooling, but if you don't have a good job then you can't pay for college. It's a deadly cycle. I also think the government is always looking for more money and raising interest rates. That fact doesn't bother me as much as the fact that the money is being spent on public art, landscapes, and totally unnecessary costs. I think that if the money was given back to 'tuition-payers' then maybe people wouldn't care so much.
  •
I think paying such high prices for college is outrageous. Many people come out of college thousands of dollars in debt and have no way of paying back that kind of money. We need people going to college to keep the United States a successful country, with well educated people.
  •
College is getting more and more expensive by the years and sooner or later not many people are going to be able to go to college because of hwo much it cost, but if they do, they would probably be thousands of dollars in debt.

Controversy around Obamacare continues as Cardinal Timothy Dolan stated the Catholic Church remains opposed to Obamacare. A big reason behind this opposition can include the morality of no-cost birth control as this article talks about. On a side note, it appears that Hobby Lobby shares similar views with Dolan.

Things like this really upset me because why are we spending so much money on things that aren't successful? I think that only if they do their job should they get paid and not even that much money. Our government spends money so stupidly that I wish people that actually need money could receive it instead of people that aren't even struggling.

JFK was very popular in the eyes of the people. He also seemed to trying to do great things as President, it's a shame that he died so early in his Presidency.
  •
I think that this is a neat article and a great way to honor JFK. But every president is different. Every term that they serve has different circumstances and situations. There is no way to accurately measure who was the "best" president. This poll is just a matter of opinion or a "popularity contest".
  •
Interesting... I could understand why JFK's the most popular. But for some reason, I had a feeling Reagan would be the topper. Nice article :)
  •
That was a really cool article..lets you have more on the mind than just school related things..nice job!(:

The article was neat. JFK was a great president. It's just sad that he had die in his early presidency.
